A 74 year old man taking pictures of a house on the north side of Columbus "for a real estate company" was shot yesterday.
Channel 4 News Story "Man, 74, Shot During Attempted Robbery, Three Men Interviewed, Released"
I heard about it as breaking news at 6:00 yesterday (it happened at 1:30 PM.) I wanted to blog about it then but resisted the urge... who do I think I am Brenda Star? Lois Lane? I can't find the story in this morning's Columbus Dispatch.

Floridian Leanne Payntor's blog about what you get in a condo in various parts of the country for under $200K inspired me. I was just going to respond with a comment on Leanne's Blog but after this much research, I'm writing my own blog and commenting on Leanne's. Leanne wrote: "Many of you have probably seen HGTV's show called "What You Get For The Money" at some point."
Leanne compared her Sunrise Florida (outside Fort Lauderdale) listing to condos in:

The University of Michigan is warning their students about dangerous neighborhoods in Columbus. They are bringing their own police.
Michigan bloggers have travel advisories about where to NOT venture in Columbus on Saturday along with various slams against Ohio.

"Big deals send up red flags" "Sales of 14 upscale homes at well-above-market prices raise suspicions of flipping" says an article in the Sunday, November 05, 2006 Columbus Dispatch written by Geoff Dutton. What kind of sale prices are we talking? What kind of differences... one home sold for list price... $0 difference but the head scratching there is over why the seller had just bought the house for less than half the $1. 3 million dollar most recent sale price, another a mere $60,000 over list price... Other sales were $200,000 or $300,000 over the list price.

Westerville Ohio a Columbus, Ohio suburb is described in a Real Living story video: "Westerville has many historical homes and an abundance of specialty shops and other attractions."
And if that is not enough video watching the Westerville website has more:
"We encourage you to check out one or all of our four city videos in the "Discover Westerville" section to see our community in living color."
To me the biggest differences between Westerville and Columbus other suburbs are:

Real Living has a blog. The blog has an entry yesterday that Real Living has an entry in Wikipedia...Wikipedia is so web 2.0 Wikipedia's Real Living encyclopedia entry
Of course Coldwell Banker has an encyclopedia entry in Wikipedia but local Coldwell Banker King Thompson doesn't have a Wikipedia encyclopedia entry yet. Re/Max Intl has a Wikipedia entry, I don't even want to try to look up all the Central Ohio Re/Max offices. Century 21 has an encyclopedia article on Wikipedia. ERA has one too.

A video about Worthington Ohio* from Real Living starts at the Doll Museum at the Old Rectory on the corner of New England Ave.and Oxford Street in Old Worthington.
The Real Living Story talks a lot about Old Worthington which is a community treasure, but it is only a small part of the City of Worthington. A previous entry here describes that historic neighborhood in some detail: A New England Village in Central Ohio
Most of Worthington is very walkable. There are great shops and restaurants on High Street in Worthington. There are community events on the green.

Tulsa Oklahoma get's top billing:
