real estate: Columbus Builder Hired a Spammer? - 01/18/13 11:53 PM
Did a Columbus builder hire a spammer?
I know the Columbus, Ohio company as builders of homes and condominiums in Delaware and Franklin County, Ohio, but apparently they build apartments as well.  The central Ohio builder built an apartment complex which looks lovely in the video on Youtube... in county south-east of the market I work in (I work in northern Franklin County / southern Delaware County, primarily...)  let's just call the county in the spam comment a "neighboring" county.  The community is NOT in Franklin or Delaware County, it's not an area I work in.  The community is not single … (9 comments)

real estate: Happy Columbus Day OR Thanksgiving... it depends - 10/08/12 03:39 AM
HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY and / OR THANKSGIVING DAY depending on whether on you are in the United States or Canada.

Some banks are closed today for Columbus Day.  Some government offices are closed for Columbus Days. I do not have a Columbus Day image, so I am going with a Thanksgiving Day greeting.
United States - Columbus Day
Not everyone is happy with Christopher Columbus but I come from a part of the country where we celebrate Columbus for days.  Today is the last day of the Experience Columbus Days, a four day celebration of the biggest and best Columbus … (2 comments)

real estate: Redfin - Glenn Kelman Interview...What did you think? - 10/17/11 06:30 AM
Redfin - Glenn Kelman Interview  - What did you think?

I thought it was EXCELLENT  then again Redfin is NOT in my market and I was trying to do about three things at the same time... was it recorded?
Did you listen?
Did ActiveRain give him a platform he does not deserve?
Glenn Kelman was not a big warm fuzzy teddy bear or anything like that but I think he did a decent job of answering concerns.

real estate: A Moving Experience - Real Living HER Worthington - 05/04/11 01:10 AM
The Real Living HER Worthington office is moving to Old Worthington.
A comment on my photo on Flickr from Don O'Brien tell's what the Old Worthington building's were when he was a child roaming the streets of Worthington with a camera.

"I think the store on the right was once Sargent's, a variety store. The white building was Corbins Funeral Home. Sam and his wife, Cornelia?, lived on the second floor. The next building on the left was Birnie's Drug Store."
Corbin Funeral Home? Of course, Rutherford Corbin is one of two funeral homes in Worthington in 2011.

What animal are you?  Take the quiz. Tell me what animal you are. What Animal Am I?

real estate: Goodbye Google Base - 01/26/11 11:43 PM
Good Bye Google Base
Just yesterdayI was whining about how horrible Google Base (real estate on Google Maps ) is on a Columbus Ohio real estate post written for consumers.
Yesterday or Tuesday Google announced real estate on Google Maps was going away...
Or perhaps I was whining about RealBird a real estate service built on real estate on Google Maps which used the Google Base API.
I was not aware of that change when I was complaining about inaccuracy of what I thought of as Google Base. I will admit I think of the real estate feature within Google Maps … (13 comments)

real estate: What animal are you? - 12/17/10 02:55 AM
Take a quiz.  "What animal are you?" take the  What Animal Am I? quiz
Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my!
"how will you survive the change in the real estate industry? "
Change?  More change?  Really do we hafta keep changing?
The "What Animal Am I?" quiz is on the site for Stefan Swanepoel's new book (comes out in 2011)...  a cute little red T for Twitter, tweeted the  Quiz asking "What animal are you?", @Tweal_Estate on Twitter:

Are real estate agents who tweet (are active on Twitter) more likely to be one animal or the other?  I … (4 comments)

real estate: Parody of a New Licensee Interview - 09/17/10 01:39 AM

I love these animated videos!  I tried to do one.  It is soooo hard...  David's "parody"  is one of the best I have seen.  I saw David's video on Facebook yesterday.
Real Living HER has some of the BEST training for new agents in Central Ohio, they have for years.
When I saw David's "Parody of a New Licensee Interview"  I wondered if they (the real estate licensing schools)  are still cranking them out...  "New Licensees" that is.
Thanks to David Maney of Alliance Real Estate in Omaha Nebraska for allowing his "Parody"  of a "New Licensee Interview" … (11 comments)

real estate: The real estate industry - blaming the victim - 12/18/09 09:02 PM

In reflection let's blame the industry or at least the El Dorado Hills Realtor community.
Mike West of Heritage Oak Properties in El Dorado Hills California  has a post with pictures of a short sale home that was vandalized.
The pictures are very disturbing.
I am sure seeing the vandalism in real life would be devastating.
Vandalism is a crime.
The title (YES! Mike is  screaming):
"HOW WOULD YOU LIKE YOUR LISTING TO GET TRASHED OR HAVE YOUR BUYERS TRASH ANOTHERS?
Well NO Mike I would not like to have a listing trashed.
MY buyer? I would feel horrible … (8 comments)

real estate: McAgency Laws - would you like some fries with that? - 11/20/09 12:13 AM

McAgency Laws - how about national real estate agency laws? Same laws governing our relationships with consumers from sea to shining sea? For their own protection? To make it easier for us. For...
McDonald's did it for consumers with hamburgers:
You drive up to a McDonald's anywhere in the US and you know the food will be inexpensive (cheap?),  it will fill your tummy, clog your arteries and the sodium will raise your blood pressure or so I've heard.... You know the McDonald's restaurant will be relatively clean, relatively easy to get into and out  and "fast."

Cybersquatting on Celebrities
JayLenoShow.com goes to The Jay Leno Show .... but for 5 years it went to a real estate website, or maybe it did not, maybe the real estate agent was just sitting on the domain and not using Jay Leno's name to sell real estate in Texas.
The clairvoyant domain owner bought the domain back in 2004 in anticipation of a show named the Jay Leno Show?
The Jay Leno show starts in September.

real estate: Celebrity says.... - 03/02/09 10:53 PM

Celebrity says Realtors® need new shoes..
Or good shoes...
I guess good shoes are not necessarily NEW shoes ...
A quote from columnist Alison Rogers in Inman News is  "a Realtor should have good shoes, especially in this climate,"
This climate?  Are we talking winter?  New York?  Let those in California, Arizona and Florida wear flip flops?
The celebrity, Rupert Everett.  Problem for me was I was thinking media mogul Rupert Murdoch long into Roger's Inman article...  I skim...
