Buy a Blizzard today at Dairy Queen for the Children's Miracle Network. At least a $1.00 per Blizzard is going to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. I did my part... I had a Hawaiian Blizzard today. Pictured is the Dairy Queen at 6416 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035, in the Olentangy Crossing area. It looks as though the Dairy Queen on the corner of E. Powell and Columbus Pike is participating too, Lewis Center area as well but closer to Polaris. Dairy Queen has details on their Facebook page. Dairy Queen is tweeting about the national event.
Blue Agave Mexican Restaurant The Blue Agave chile rellenos may be the reason the Mexican restaurant in the Polaris area is probably my new favorite central Ohio Mexican restaurant. Blue Agave makes their chille rellenos with egg rather than batter. The red sauce on top is nice and light too. And they are huge. Claddagh Irish Pub is at Polaris in Southern Delaware County. Despite my name and heritage... I am not a big "Irish" food fan. What can I say? I like Mexican and Indian food... Don't get me wrong. I love corned beef and cabbage. I love salmon. I love potatoes. I love Irish whiskey... I have never really enjoyed any of the Columbus "Irish" restaurants. I have NOT been to Ireland though either. Mexican food in Worthington? Yes! Olde Worthington? Nope Taco al Pastor is not in "Olde Worthington" but it is in the City of Worthington...at 455 E. Wilson Bridge Road That's the corner of Wilson Bridge Road and Worthington Galena Road... sort of a complex intersection. Where East Wilson Bridge Road ends and Huntley Road begins. El Acapulco at Crosswoods is in the City of Columbus as were La Fogata, La Costa both were on Worthington Woods east of Worthington Galena north of 270, same spot... both closed. McCarthy's Wildflower Cafe is in Clintonville at 3420 Indianola Avenue, just north of Oakland Park Avenue. The address is 3420 Indianola Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43214 I had never eaten at the Wildflower Cafe until this week. The restaurant website says: "The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with many regulars and a friendly staff." The waitress was very nice, she helped me read the menu... Catchy? The "business establishment where meals or refreshments may be purchased" is Merriam-Websters Dictionaries definition of restaurant. It is a bit wordy. What about Columbus Restaurant "period of seven successive days" That kinda sorta comes from Dictionary.com A dispute over the rights to call next week "Restaurant Week" or "Columbus Restaurant Week" seems darn silly.... in the face of what's going on in the economy. A local magazine registered the right to the term "Columbus Restaurant Week. That's where we went for Valentines Day because sadly I did NOT win the Mortons Columbus Twitter contest... and because neither of us could get reservations at the places everyone wanted to be on Valentines Day when it got close. And because we love Indian Food... I believe Bayleaf India Bistro is a bit more special because we have NOT gone there a bunch of times like another Indian restaurant in the Polaris area, Cuisine of India. ----------------------------------------------------------------- What I loved My entree... We finally ate at Hawa Russia last Thurday. We had tried a bunch of times previously but they do a "night club" on Saturday nights or were doing a "night club" the two Saturday nights we tried to eat at Hawa Russia. Hawa Russia closes early on Sunday. Hawa Russia is at 2680 E. Dublin Granville Road in north east Columbus. I had been craving the borscht and the Hawa Russia salad since reading a Columbus food blog's review of Hawa Russia last summer. ColumbusFoodie I have never had Russian food before. Cafe Anatolia is on the far north side of Columbus, in the Worthington area (north-east of Worthington, north of 270.) The restaurant's address is 1097 Worthington Galena Road, Worthington Ohio 43085 The local Turkish restaurant, Cafe Anatolia has a website. An outdated website that does not do them justice but how important is a restaurant website. Just don't believe the menu prices.... the dinner menu online is probably two generations old. There are lots of restaurants in the Polaris area... more opening everyday... competitive. I've been aware of some odd comments about Polaris area restaurants that have been left on my blogs for a long time. Well since the beginning of 2008. There's an odd pattern.
