twitter: How to get rid of Twitter SPAM!

I am a TWITTER ADDICT! But I HATE the Twitter DM (direct message) mail. In other words, direct contact from other Twitterers. Many Twitters use programs such as TweetLater to send an automated message to someone you've just started following. The problem is so much of this is SPAM.
If you want to know how to rid yourself of all this SPAM, this is how. Ready?
1) Follow: Optmeout 2) Once Optmeout follows YOU, send a DM (direct message) to Optmeout. It doesn't matter what it says. 3) Unfollow Optmeout

DISCLAIMER: KIDS DON”T TRY THIS AT HOME! I admit it, sometimes Twitter and drive. It’s something I do occasionally when I’m driving long distances. Why is this important to me? As a female driving alone, I don’t want to end up on one of those murder mystery shows on television that I love to watch. I want a record of where I’ve been so I will be found! Morbid? Yes. Twitter Safety Tip of the Day I’m a really independent person. It’s nothing for me to hop in the car and drive long distances alone. Would you believe in today’s day an age I still get shocked reactions to a woman driving cross country along? Hello, just because I’m female doesn’t mean I can’t/won’t drive by myself. Safety should be an issue for anyone driving long distances alone. Twenty plus years ago the safety precaution of choice was my dad’s portable CB so I could call for help if needed. Hey fellow Facebookers and Twitters, there is now a way to track your Facebook updates on TweetDeck! No more toggling back and forth. You can now receive Facebook updates to Tweetdeck. Your Facebook friends show up in a new column which is updated once a minute.
You can even initiate a Facebook chat via Tweetdeck. How cool is that?
Now when you post on Twitter, you can select where you want it to go. Not to mention shortening the URls, Twitpic and more.

I found this interesting website that ranked The Top 50 Twitter Cities. It's very cool that the majority of the top 10 are in the United States. Interesting that Denver, Phoenix and Las Vegas were so far down on the list. But, hey, at least they made the list, unlike Omaha, Nebraska.

I was catching up on Twitter and discovered a new Twitter application called, Twittersheep. It makes a tag cloud from the bios of your followers. Here's mine....
