10-9-16 @ 10 am History is possibly preparing to repeat itself here in Greenville NC. #hurricaneMatthew #NCFlooding #GreenvilleNCStrong Back in 1999 when Eastern NC was hit with Hurricane Floyd ( and Dennis just prior) -"The Flood of The Century ". The water was also documented as a 500 yr flood level in some parts of our region. I was living here during that time and experienced it first hand to understand the urgency and threat it posed as the Tar River crested and flooded alot of Eastern NC. There were 35 deaths, and it left thousands without a home here in Pitt County . … (0 comments)
