arlington: Arlington, VA home sellers: Just say Yes to showings

Although the interwebs are great for searching for Arlington, VA homes for sale, homes cannot actually get sold on the internet. People need to go into houses to buy them. I work with as many buyers as sellers, actually more buyers this year than sellers. I have had sellers turn me down for showings, when I give plenty of time, notice and options, every time I've gone out with buyers lately. Maybe it's just my bad luck? Doubt it. I think in any market there are sellers who are not told unequivocally the importance of not turning down showings. … (9 comments)
arlington: The tulips are beautiful at Netherlands Carillon in Arlington!

One of Arlington's greatest views is from the Netherlands Carillon in the Rosslyn Neighborhood in Arlington. The Netherlands Carillon was given to the U.S. as a gift from the Netherlands for helping them in Word War 2, this gorgeous bell is surrounded by tulips and offers spectacular views of the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and Capitol buildings. It also plays Shots of those views to come later. Yesterday I was focused on the tulips! They are absolutely spectacular right now. I just attended a very happy settlement for 4132 41st Street North in Arlington, VA - Just Sold for $940,000. This was a very special home, unlike most in the area. Located on the last street in the county before the Chain Bridge, it was a very private location and nicely maintained and updated home. It took some time to sell it because it was not the "typical Arlington colonial" but the right buyers found it and my sellers were thrilled to see it convey to them. You will hear "bad news" regarding real estate every where you turn these days, because the national news media focuses on national sales figures. National sales figures for real estate are pretty much an oxymoron - all real estate is local. Yes, you've heard it a thousand times, but it does not stop reporters from glomming on to misleading indices like Case-Schiller and convincing us that real estate nationwide is bad. Tuckahoe Park in Arlington, Virginia is located on the corner of Sycamore Street and Lee Highway at 2400 N.
