staging: Do You Like the online photo's of your listings? - 05/01/12 07:30 AM
Professionally staged homes sell over 50% faster and on average for 6-10% more.  That's quite a bit more money for a lot less headache, but how do you get the home sellers to "buy in" to the idea of staging a home.  As a Real Estate Agent and expert in the industry, you owe it to your clients to have answers as to why their home is not selling or how they can get more money out of their home
Buyers don't buy houses they buy homes ...they have a vision of what they want for their families...Stagers can partner with agents … (0 comments)

staging: Do you stage a home for the photo shoot?? - 03/19/12 10:44 PM
As a professional home stager it is critical that I see the "staging potential" of the home.  In order to do that, I need to know a bit about the home and the area it's in.  You've heard the saying that you want to be the smallest house in the nicest neighborhood, well in home staging terms, that means "staging potential."  If the home is the least expensive in the area, and the comparables are much higher than the asking price of the home then there is great opportunity for Phase 3, cosmetic home staging.
There are three keys to selling a home and when all … (3 comments)

staging: WHY STAGE EMPTY PROPERTIES - 08/05/10 12:34 AM

Home staging is an important marketing technique for selling homes, whether they are furnished or vacant....BUT most importantly staging a empty property is critical due to the simple reason that people buy homes not houses.  A vast amount of people are unable to imagine what an empty room can look like furnished.  Take for an example this stock photo of a room....personally, I am not sure if it is a garage, a basement, a laundry room...(this is my point)

Empty Room
With nothing to focus on the buyer will be only looking at the negative...for example with the … (6 comments)

staging: THE ADVANTAGES OF USING MIRRORS - 07/21/10 07:16 AM
In one of my recent blogs titled "baby boomers staging their parent's homes" part 4 of 5 I used this mirror which generated many positive comments.   Staging  with mirrors is a great way of generating light which can totally transform a room. The room that I had staged lacked light, even though there are windows, the room seemed dim to a certain degree. Once the mirror was hung, it not only reflected the natural light; it became a focal point of the room as would a piece of art, but more economical may I add. In addition it seemed to open up … (2 comments)

staging: Baby Boomers selling their parents homes - Part 3 of 5 - 07/10/10 10:37 AM

In part three I will be going over the importance of updating your parents homes to reflect the consumer market of 2010.
As I had mentioned in a prior blog, this particular home is a raised ranch built in the 1960's.  I removed the rugs, exposing beautiful hardwood floors.  I changed the window treatments, arranged for some new furnishings which, may be rented or purchased.  Recycled some of the existing furniture for an example;one end table that was in the living room is now utilized in a bedroom as a night stand.  A hutch that was in the dinning room … (0 comments)
