painesville: How would you react if you heard the tornado sirens? - 08/06/08 01:47 PM
It was 3 AM and I'd just crawled back into bed after my tenth, or so it seemed, trip to the bathroom.  All of a sudden, I heard the weather siren, a.k.a. air raid drill siren for those of us who lived during the Cold War.  I couldn't believe my ears, so I went to the window, opened it, confirmed what I thought I'd heard, and mumbled "Oh, %@*$" under my breath.
The first thing I did was grab my cordless and cell phones, then headed downstairs.  Buddy followed obediently; Dudley, who is old, took his good old time.  I thought, no, this isn't happening, … (7 comments)

painesville: Cleveland Ranked in the Top Ten for Courteous Drivers - 05/15/08 10:44 AM
I live in Painesville, Ohio, a small town about 22 miles east of Cleveland.  In a recent survey, Cleveland ranked sixth in the nation for courteous drivers, even when traffic was backed up.  I'm so glad to see Cleveland receiving positive recognition.  The survey was conducted by a company based in Connecticut.
The article has some great advice... drivers should take a deep breath, slow down, be aware, and be careful.
Good advice no matter where you live!  Especially for us Realtors who always seem to be in a hurry.
