They seem to have been there forever. Often we pass them every day without so much as a second look.
But every area has its local landmarks. The place that not only serves to identify a general place or location, but that also adds a little special something that makes a community unique or special.
I especially like old courthouses, railroad depots and old mills. I stop and photograph them whenever I am traveling.
And when I revisit these place again, I “compare notes” with photographs from previous years.
Sometimes the landmarks are well maintained and preserved. But all too often … (7 comments)
