Fortunately, there are some sure-fire ways to jump-start activity and most are relatively easy to implement. So here we go: Take a vacation. This one NEVER fails. Plan a few days out of town and you will be inundated with phone calls and texts. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s time to gear up for the final weeks of 2013! The holidays are a great time to reconnect with old clients. A hand-addressed holiday card is nearly always opened and displayed throughout the season. I am the first to admit it. Over the last decade I had become dependent on the Internet as my primary source of lead generation. I spent hour after hour honing my sites and keeping up with all of the changes in the Google algorithms. But with each passing month I have been inching down in the results and the mega-sites have continued to float to the top. The days of the level playing field are OVER! Real estate is STILL a people business. The overwhelming majority of real estate transactions still rely on face to face interaction on a personal level. Real estate agents work very hard to place their product in front of as many potential buyers as possible. It is time consuming and expensive to list property. So it logically follows that if our marketing efforts generate interest in a property, at some point, the relationship has to be taken to the next level: i.e. a real conversation.
