Situated thirty miles Southwest of Atlanta, Newnan Georgia combines the charm and ambience of an antebellum village with all of the conveniences and amenities of a big city. The historic Newnan Downtown Square hasn’t changed very much over all of the years, but there have been some changes. Since the opening of the New Justice Center on the south side of town, the old courthouse now houses some minor agencies and the Newnan / Coweta County Visitor Center. I was out “in the county” yesterday previewing some properties. Coweta County Georgiais one of those locales that takes you directly from urban to rural is a few short miles. Much of the Eastern part of the county is Atlanta suburbia, with its accompanying tract houses and strip malls! Downtown Newnan is still classic small town America, with a center “Square” and shops, restaurants, and parks all within walking distance. As you move beyond town, the county is very rural, with pastoral landscapes, grazing livestock, and a new state park! Since it appeals to such a broad range of lifestyles, Coweta (10 comments)

Richard Weisser 2011 One of the special Summer touches in historic downtown Newnan is the numerous hanging baskets of beautiful flowers that punctuate the Old Courthouse Square. Newnan takes great pride in the fact that one can still visit the downtown area just for the sake of being there and enjoying the sights and the ambience. I had a candid conversation with one of our buyers the other day. She is looking for a $40,000 house in a nice area that doesn’t need anything other than cosmetic repairs. Without really thinking, I told her that we had plenty of $40,000 houses that met her criteria but that they cost $80,000! And while that seemed a bit specious at first, there is an underlying truth to the statement. The intrinsic value of real estate is absolutely determined by location and condition. The demand for properties in good areas that are move-in ready is very high in our area, (29 comments)
