newnan homes for sale: Just because a house for sale n Newnan Georgia is cheap does not mean that just anyone can by it! Good credit is a MUST!
- 12/02/10 12:28 AM
There are a lot of inexpensive homes for sale in the Newnan Georgia. By “inexpensive,” I mean under $70,000. And if you crunch the numbers at today’s low interest rates, house payments on recent purchases in the $300-$400 range are not as uncommon as one might expect. It is certainly true that the amount of income required to qualify for a loan on a house in this price range places nearly everyone in the realm of a potential buyer. Many would-be purchasers have car payments that are higher than their potential monthly mortgage outlay. So therein lays the problems: Debt

newnan homes for sale: Lake Redwine Plantaion, Newnan Georgia
- 04/02/10 09:03 AM
Lake Redwine Plantation is Newnan Georgia’s premiere lake community. The centerpiece of the neighborhood is the beautiful 300 acre Lake Redwine which offers both scenic beauty and diverse recreational opportunities! And since the lake is limited to electric motors only, the quiet and serenity is never shattered by the roar of outboard motors or personal watercraft. This limitation also contributes to the great fishing, as anglers vie for Bass, Crappie, Bream and Catfish! And even if your home is not on the waters’ edge, there are many areas along the lake that are open to all community residents. In addition, there

newnan homes for sale: Can it be possible? Do we have more buyers than properties? Problems for first-time home buyers in Newnan Georgia,
- 08/27/09 12:01 AM
It seems lately that we have a dearth of sellable properties in the Newnan Georgia area. It's not that there are not a lot of houses on the market, as there are plenty! However, there are not enough of the types of homes that buyers are seeking. Here in Newnan Georgia, that's a decent, move-in ready house for under $100,000. We have qualified buyers, ready to go, but the selection is diminishing daily. Add to that the fact that most of the best properties that are moving are selling over and above list price. The net result is that many buyers

newnan homes for sale: Sometimes what you don't know CAN hurt you ... and cost you!
- 08/21/09 10:50 PM
I had an interesting thing happen this week. My wife asked me if I thought her 2000 Honda CRV needed a new timing belt. I told her that the car didn't have a timing belt, it had a timing chain which would not need regular replacement. When she asked how I knew that the car had a timing chain instead of a belt I responded that since the car had 160,000 miles on it, that a timing belt would have broken some time ago! It turns out that I was wrong. Not only does the car have a timing belt, but

newnan homes for sale: Is it the world we live in or just old age? When the LCD becomes a window to the world, something has to be lost in the translation.
- 08/11/09 11:55 PM
I have been doing a lot of thinking today about how much time I spend sitting in front of a computer. With all of the social networking and online research that I do, I really don't venture out into the "real world" as often as I did when I was a younger man. Being cooped up inside was like being in a prison back then. There was whole world outside to explore, and I was bound and determined to see and do "everything!" And I did my share of experimenting. Well, probably less than my share because I'm pretty conservative by

newnan homes for sale: Today I undergo a simple procedure and a simultaneous test of loyalty, and I think that I am wavering!
- 08/10/09 11:34 PM
A lot of my problems are of my own making. I have to go to the dentist this morning and have a tooth repaired. It's no big deal, and it's something that has to be done. But the real annoyance is that my dentist's office is fifty miles away, in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, so I have to negotiate rush hour and construction traffic to get there. It's an arduous journey that I do not look forward to undertaking. Common sense says that I should just change dentists, but I have been going to the same place for twenty-five years,

newnan homes for sale: I had my civil rights violated yesterday, and I was illegally detained. Has the United States become a police state?
- 08/06/09 11:29 PM
Yesterday, I drove a client to Macon Georgia to record a survey of a property that I had just listed at the Bibb County Clerk of Superior Court. It's about a two hour drive from the office, so it gave me a good chance brainstorm with the client as we drove the Georgia backroads. When we got to the courthouse, I had my camera in hand (as usual) and my computer case so rather than go through security, I decided to wait outside while my client recorded the survey. It was a pretty day so I thought that I could get

newnan homes for sale: There's something appealing about meeting a challenge head on. After all, if life was easy it would be boring!
- 08/05/09 11:20 PM
We face obstacles every day in our professions and life in general. And typically, we are prone to complain about the hardships we are forced to endure. Nothing wrong with that way of thinking, after all, it's human nature. But there is something exciting and exhilarating about meeting a challenge head on, and with perseverance and determination, being able to overcome it. Because our greatest level of satisfaction is not derived from accomplishing the ordinary, but from achieving success against all odds. And that is what makes life interesting! newnan homes for sale: It's the first Tuesday of the month, and you know what that means! The rite of foreclosure will be performed at your local courthouse.
- 08/03/09 11:52 PM
Today is the first Tuesday of the Month, and in Georgia, that has a significant meaning. At 10:00 A.M. at the Coweta County Courthouse, and at every other county courthouse in the state of Georgia, the calls for bids "at public outcry" for properties in default will commence. Georgia is a non-judicial foreclosure state. All a mortgagor has to do is notify the mortgagee of the default and advertise the auction in the county "legal organ" for four weeks. Then the attorneys will literally stand on the courthouse steps, rain or shine, and read the notices word for word. After the

newnan homes for sale: The World Wide Web today is like the story of David vs. Goliath ... now where is that sling?
- 08/02/09 12:25 AM
Technology is fleeting. While innovation and change are good, the exponential rate of change in the technological arena has made it hard, if not impossible to keep up. In 1992, when I first discovered the World Wide Web, it was an archaic medium that was slow, inefficient, and underused. It was a platform for geeks and scientists to experiment with and for sharing academic documents. The Mosaic Browser changed the way we all thought about a document, as an image could be inserted into the page and displayed. While that seems simple now, it was revolutionary back then. The main reason

newnan homes for sale: TJ's Discount Meat and Seafood, A Newnan Georgia butcher and fish market.
- 07/31/09 02:50 PM
Many of us long for the "good old days" before the giant supermarkets. A time where you purchased your daily grocery needs from specialty shops. And no market was more important to the preparer of the family meals than the local butcher shop. Here, the careful shopper would decide on the dinner menu by looking over all of the fresh fare and deciding which item "looked good" for the nightly preparation ritual. If a special cut was desired, the butcher would gladly accommodate them. TJ's Discount Meat and Seafood in Newnan is shop that takes one back to earlier times. The

newnan homes for sale: How many chilies can one person eat? Or, you can get too much of any good thing.
- 07/22/09 11:56 PM
I am the cook at our house, and I like my dishes to burst with flavor. In most cases, I use fresh chilies from the garden to add that extra zing that makes the recipe stand out. The good thing about peppers is that they are easy to grow and quite prolific. A single plant can produce hundreds of chilies, and you can have many varieties in a very small space, The bad thing about hot chilies is that a little pepper goes a long way. You really have to control the heat, especially when using habaneras or serranos. Adding too

newnan homes for sale: They say that experience is the best teacher. If so, I have completed my courses and I am ready to graduate!
- 07/22/09 12:43 AM
Yesterday afternoon I showed one of my listings, and just as the potential buyer drove off the sellers returned home. Since they are always anxious to get feedback after a showing, I stayed and chatted with them for a while. We talked a lot about their house and the real estate market in general, and about what was selling and what was not selling. During the conversation at some point, I uttered this phrase: "I have been in this business since 1984 and I have NEVER seen anything like this!" It wasn't until I was in the pickup driving home that

newnan homes for sale: It's autumn in July and it feels great. Some positive thoughts derived from an out of the ordinary morning!
- 07/19/09 01:01 AM
It was 56 degrees in Newnan Georgia this morning. That's a record low for this date in July. And while it is a far cry from shivering weather, it's a relief from the normal deep south lows in the 70's. And while it doesn't really affect every day life or change anything of significance one way or another, it's always nice to enjoy something that is unusual or out of the ordinary! It sets this morning in July apart from all of the others previous that I have experienced. This morning is special because it is different. It is memorable because it

newnan homes for sale: I'm going to spend a relaxing weekend ...WORKING! ! Compared to working during the week it's like a walk in the park!!
- 07/18/09 12:11 AM
After a week rife with problems and issues, I'm looking forward to the weekend. And it's not due to the fact that I won't be working, because I will be on the job as usual. But the weekend work is going to be easy and relatively stress free. Visiting listings, refilling brochure boxes, checking up on sellers and catching up on a ton of web work! And the reason that I can relax is simple ...the banks and attorneys are closed, so I won't have to make that endless stream of phone calls, faxes and emails trying to finish work that

newnan homes for sale: Photography as an art form then and now. Was it really that long ago?
- 07/17/09 12:59 PM
I don't consider myself particularly old. But I have been taking photographs for a long time. And although I used some sophisticated mid 1980's equipment, the actual photographic technique that I employed was the same one that has been in use since before the American Civil War. That process involved exposing light sensitive chemicals to a projected image, and then preserving the image by "fixing" the active chemicals into a semi-permanent state of preservation. The photographer was responsible for exposing the film for the correct amount of time for the amount of light allowed to be projected on to the film surface. The
