The Georgia Department of Transportation and the Garden Club of Georgia have teamed up to provide Georgia travelers with a beautiful display of wildflowers along Georgia Highways.
Highway beautification is the legacy of Lady Bird Johnson, First Lady and wife of President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Mrs., Johnson loved the wildflowers of Texas, and dedicated her efforts to adding beauty to America's roadsides with landscaping and the removal of excess numbers of billboards.
