Boyd Texas is located in Wise County on State Highway 114. Boyd is 7 miles south of Decatur and North of Fort Worth. The area was settled in the early 1890s as farmers made use of the fertile land along the North Fork of the Trinity River. Originally the area was called Greasy Bend as the area was known as a place where hogs were fattens. As with most small towns in the late 1800s and early 1900s the railroad had an impact on the town.
