Last night, I may have discovered that I am a little on the stupid side. Seriously. I know that may not come to a "blinding flash of the obvious" to those that subscribe to my humble blog, but until yesterday I thought I understood our crazy and dysfunctional industry. Just like your drunk uncle Joe or the mother-in-law that you wished wouldn't have been part of the deal, there are a few things we all put up with in our real estate lives. We know who people are by the way they communicate and relate with us. Here's an advanced list of skills.
I am unconditionally constructive whenever I speak. I speak "charge neutral" versus up or down. I remain criticism-free even when I correct others. I have tremendous amounts of compassion for others. I make my points quickly and powerfully: I "message." I don't gossip. Period. I always come from a positive place that is solution oriented. I prepare for rather than forcing change.
