Stop the Presses...
ActiveRain Superstar Michael Thornton Has Mold!

Every morning I follow my traditional routine of pouring myself a cup of coffee, firing up my laptop, and checking my email. One email I particularly look forward to seeing, is the Daily Drop, ActiveRain's official newsletter. You know, the one that shows the featurd blog posts from the day before, and includes a "Member of the Day" for all to admire, love, send money to. You are subscribed to the Daily Drop... aren't you?Well, anyway, this time I was especially pleased to see my good friend Michael Thornton's "You've Got … (42 comments)

activerain: How Do You Stack Up to Your Peers Here in the Rain? A Tutorial So Easy...Even YOU Can Do It! - 07/15/10 04:51 AM
Since I wrote this post some time back,  over 30,000 folks have joined ActiveRain.I felt because it was pretty well received at the time, perhaps some of the members who might have missed it the first time out, it was time to post it again.Hey, TV has summer re-runs! Why can't I?!!!!I know in the end, the points don't make you a better Realtor, inspector, or loan officer. But, everyone in the Real Estate industry is competitive by nature and here's a good way to see how you stack up against your peers here in the Rain.

Have you ever … (77 comments)

activerain: A Heartfelt Thank You to Each and Every One of You! - 05/07/10 11:56 AM
It is with this post that I reach the 300,000 point mark!
And, what a long, strange trip it's been!

Along the way, I've made a lot of friends, had the opportunity to meet, or at least, speak with a many of you. And, aside from that rough few weeks of seemingly endless proxy errors, I've enjoyed every minute of my time playing with you in the Rain.

But, this blog isn't me gloating about my point total.
This post is a thank you.

A thank you to each and every one of you who posted … (49 comments)

activerain: No Proxy Errors! No Bad Gateways! The New Servers Seem to Be Working! - 04/27/10 02:30 AM
Well, as one of our fearless leaders, Bob Stewart, has promised, the new servers are in...and seem to be working! When I logged on this morning, ActiveRain opened right up... with surprisingly fast speed.
I was able to make my comments, read posts from some of my favorite bloggers, and, best of all, I was able to do it all without any of the dreaded proxy errors or bad gateways we've been experiencing while AR went through another growth spurt!
Please send kudos to Bob and the rest of the ActiveRain staff for hearing our pleas for help and for working towards making … (30 comments)

ActiveRain Has its 1st Million Point Member!

OK, I'm just kidding. I'm really not even close to a million points! But some of your friends here in the Rain are. And, in a very short time, a few of them will become the 1st million point members here in the Rain. Will it be Todd Clark of Beaverton, OR, who is currently sitting on 933,850 points? Will it be Lenn Harley of Rockville, MD, with her 899,232 points?
Will it be you?
It's going to happen. And very soon too.
I wonder what plans the good folks … (37 comments)

Of course, in between events, he'll still be helping buyers and sellers with all … (31 comments)

Twitter - Some Interesting Facts & Why You Should Be "Twittering"

While running around Cary and Apex, North Carolina with some very excited 1st time buyers today, I received an email from some company trying to sell me followers for my Twitter account. After hitting the delete button, and upon my return home, I decided to do a little research on Twitter... First I went to Alexa.com, one of the best website ranking tools I've come across, to check out where Twitter ranks on the internet. I discovered that Twitter is the 13th most visited website in the United … (187 comments)

Yesterday I wrote a blog, about the cold weather we're experiencing here in the Raleigh/ Cary/ Apex area of North Carolina.

In yesterday's post, my dear friend Toula Rosebrock, the Listing Queen of Lacey Township New Jersey, was offering warm bowls of soup to some of us in an effort to … (52 comments)

activerain: Happy Holidays from the ActiveRain Staff - 12/26/09 09:45 AM
For those of you who didn't see this..... Our very own Brad Andersohn sent me an email a few days back, and asked me if I would create a holiday greeting card for the ActiveRain staff.
With all that they have done for us here in the Rain, there was no way I would even think of saying no.
So, Brad sent me pictures of the folks who work behind the scenes at ActiveRain, and I got to work!
I had some fun putting this one together and I hope you enjoyed it.
If you didn't get to see Brad's … (49 comments)

activerain: Ambassador Craig is At Your Service!!! - 11/17/09 11:00 PM

Folks, I don’t know how I managed this one, but the ActiveRain Gods have put their heads together and deemed me worthy of a new role…
Ambassador.

This is a role I do not take lightly. It’s an honor to have.
As you may or may not know, I've actually had some experience in an ambassador capacity.

I was the official U. S. Ambassador to Pig’s Knuckle, Arkansas a while back. I’m not so sure why the U. S. needed an ambassador to a small city already in the country, but … (124 comments)

activerain: 200,000 Points and 300 Blog Posts...But What Have I Learned? - 11/16/09 01:23 AM
Well my dear readers, I now have 200,000 points and 300 blog posts under my belt. It took me quite a while to get here. My first post in January of 2007 was hideous! But, just as ActiveRain has evolved, so have my blogs!
I think they’re at least readable now! I know I might be analyzing the obvious, but this blogging stuff is a lot harder than it looks!
Since joining ActiveRain:
I've met some truly wonderful people who I now think of as friends.
I’ve received and given out some referrals.
I’ve even picked up a few … (140 comments)

activerain: Using My Blog to Enhance Relationships - A Blog Inspired by Bob "the Builder" Stewart!!! - 10/28/09 07:17 AM
How am I using my ActiveRain blog to enhance existing relationships? (A blog inspired by Bob "the Builder" Stewart!)

When I created my ActiveRain account way back when the wheel was still square and sliced bread was just a dream, I originally thought AR was just going to be a social networking atmosphere where I could expand my referral base.
But nearly 2 years into my existence here, I’ve come to discover that it’s so much more than that!

Ahh, what a long strange trip it's been!

There’s so much to learn everyday here in … (36 comments)

activerain: The Day After St. Craig's Day...And It's Not Pretty Folks!!! - 03/18/09 03:19 AM
For those of you who were blessed by reading my blog yesterday, you know that March 17th was not actually St. Patty's Day...
It was actually St. Craig's Day!!!

Well, I want to thank you one and all for celebrating along with me on this very special holiday!
However, some of us, and you know who you are, didn't celebrate responsibly.
One such person was our very own ActiveRain friend and El Paso, Texas Home Inspector extraordinaire.....
Roy Peterson

I'm pretty sure this was an isolated incident ( I know it's hard not to get all caught up in … (19 comments)

activerain: 100,000 Points! And To Celebrate, I Bring To You...The Best of...Uh...Well....The Best of ME!!! - 03/05/09 04:53 AM

OK my dear readers, I've finally achieved that glorious milestone here on ActiveRain...100,000 points!
I could go off and give one of those "I'd like to thank the Academy..." speeches here. But, truth be told, I'd like to thank all of you, my adoring fans(!!!) for helping me make it this far. Rather than name and thank you individually (you know who you are anyway), I've decided to hire this guy to walk around your town instead.

In honor of ME, and/ or for those of you who don't know ME, here are some blogs I've written over the … (50 comments)

activerain: Happy New Year To One and All! - 12/31/08 08:31 AM
Another year has come and gone. Fortunately for many of us here in the Rain, 2008 will not be missed. Although, I read somewhere that an extra second will be added to 2008 for some reason....Thanks! Like we need to add one more second to an already abysmal year!
I'm truly looking forward to 2009.
So, without further ado, I'd like to take this time to wish all my friends, family, co-workers and everyone who helped keep 2008 from being a total disaster, a very Happy New Year!
May 2009 bring you all nothing short of health, love, happiness, smiles and … (8 comments)

activerain: A Plea To My Fellow Active Rain Friends! - 12/19/08 05:36 AM
OK, I tried to post this before I went out of town a few days ago, but proxy errors canned that idea!

I'm heading out of town for a few days of rest and relaxation in New York City. (Yes, I know that's not where you're supposed to go to rest!) But I'm heading there anyway!
While I'm away, I'm asking for all of you to please take care of this while I'm gone:

Proxy Error
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /action/agents_secure/my_home.

OK my dear readers, I'm heading to my old stomping grounds of New York City for a few days of R & R.
Now I know that you'll miss me while I'm away. (And who could blame you?!!!)
But don't worry. I've got you covered.
I wanted to give you something to do so that the Craig withdrawls that will you'll surely incur during my absence won't feel so bad.
So here it is.......
The Impossible Quiz

Good luck!
Enjoy!
Try not to miss me too much while I'm away!
Take solace in the fact that I'll be back soon!
