On Monday, one of the original members of Pink Floyd, Richard Wright died of cancer at the age of 65. Born in England on July 28, 1943, Wright's unique keyboard playing was an integral part of the Pink Floyd sound. David Gilmour, guitarist for Pink Floyd had this to say, "In my view, all the greatest Pink Floyd moments are the ones where he is in full flow. No-one can replace Richard Wright - he was my musical partner and my friend." Richard Wright will, without question, be missed.

On September 18th the Durham Blues Festival kicks off its 21st season bringing the Blues to the Triangle area. Running from the 18th through the 20th this year the festival will feature such notables as Clarence Carter, Marcia Ball and Taj Mahal.
