stagers portfolio: Not All Bananas in the Bunch are Ripe and Ready - 05/01/08 12:07 AM
So my home selling pets, would you like to pick a home stager to regularly work with, but are not sure which in the bunch to hire? Plus does it seem as if daily there are more and more staging bananas out there to pick from? Well, you are right; it can be a tough to know which stager you should bring to your seller, especially since staging is still a relatively new service offered in most parts of the USA. You are also right if you noticed that there are many new bananas rapidly joining the staging bunch. To make a wise and informed choice, … (36 comments)

stagers portfolio: WOW does this stager have "IT" or what? - 11/01/06 11:40 PM

With nearly 170 Real Estate Stagers now listed here on Active Rain I tend to only have time to "check out" those who have jumped further in the puddle and participate more fully by blogging and commenting.
Recently I stumbled upon Jessica Hughes of Ambiance Staging. a new stager that I believe has “it”...  in every sense of word.  I believe she has a GREAT start, a GREAT attitude, GREAT talent, GREAT acumen and most importantly… tenacity.
A little while back I shared a “secret” on how to easily evaluate a stager. In that blog I said… “USE YOUR EYES and see the good AR stagers … (11 comments)

stagers portfolio: God really knows how to be a kill joy! - 09/09/06 12:11 AM
(Alternate blog title: "Church Blocks view and ends sale.")
So all week long I have been "ranting and raving" about the high rise luxury condo we just had completed staging and how the priced was raised and how a person who had first scene it at the lower price was now considering it at the higher price after touring it 2 more times (for a total of three tours). Well this staging story does not have a happy ending.
The buyer opted NOT to buy this beauty, out of fears that the new Episcopal Diocesan Office building which is scheduled to be built in … (3 comments)

stagers portfolio: Tips for Stagers: regarding Before & After Pictures - 09/07/06 12:27 AM
Photograph EVERY project. Pictures are SOOOO important... they tell our story in an instant.  THAT is why I have so many posted on my website.  You can write and write and write... but people will ALWAYS look at the pictures.
AND I keep updating them too, because you have 2 clients... the seller and the realtor. A seller might only look at your site a few times when they are thinking of hiring you.  A realtor goes back and back and back just to keep "tabs" on you. If they always see new fresh images they know you are a … (11 comments)

stagers portfolio: This Staging Story keeps GETTING BETTER... offer is coming in. - 09/05/06 02:12 PM
I told all my fellow Rain Drops that I would keep you posted...
So today the listing agent called to tell me she had a 3rd showing to the same client of the property we JUST finished staging on Friday.
You may all recall that this is the property where the priced was RAISED $50,000 and I just blogged about it on Saturday. Asking Price RAISED $55k after Real Estaging
While I know the deal is not done yet... it sure seems to be moving in the right direction for sure.  I'll continue to keep you posted. But if this goes it will be a "staged … (4 comments)

stagers portfolio: Asking Price RAISED $55,000 after Real Estaging! - 09/02/06 04:47 AM
I know I keep ranting and raving about how staging can impact the asking price of real estate. So I am just THRILLED to share this story of a property we JUST finished staging yesterday morning (September 1). We fully staged the Foyer, Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Hallway, Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom of this luxuary condo with VIEWS TO DIE FOR!
The realtor, who has used Real Estaging services before knew the quality of our work... when she recently got a listing she convinced the seller that if he had it us staged it  he could ask for more... $55,000 MORE! Our fees are well covered … (20 comments)

stagers portfolio: Under Qualifed "Stagers" Flood the Market - 07/23/06 02:44 PM
Too many unqualified and untalented people are entering the field of staging... seeing it as a way to make a quick buck.  It is easy to separate the amateurs from the professionals. Since they are in the business of "good first impressions" then their websites (heck, their business card) should give you just that.  If the site and the portfolio of their work leaves you with a good impression... then I would bet they will be good for you and you seller.  But if their own site to looks poor... then my advice is to move on.   Staging is not rocket science... but it is creative talent.
Well … (24 comments)
