real estate: Why Would I Work for You? - 05/14/13 02:53 AM
Please allow me to ask you a question…why do you work where you do? No really, what significant detail or one thing can you say attracted you to and makes you stay where you are? You see, everyone has stuff to some degree…tools, training, technology or some value-add component that keeps you welded in to your office. The question is always, do I feel like I belong here and is it getting the most and the best out of me.
As I tour around the North Central Division of the United States visiting our EXIT Realty offices and speaking at … (0 comments)

real estate: Fill Your Bookshelves - 04/07/13 06:52 AM
I want you to pretend you are in small town USA, and you just purchased a quaint little boutique retail space in a pedestrian-friendly village. You are embarking on a new business, one that is quickly being replaced by the Nook, the Kindle and the Ipad…or is it. Your dream of opening a destination book store with comfy lounging furniture, soft music, coffee and gelato is taking shape. You are only missing one thing, books.
If you believe in the premise “build it and they will come”, you better make sure that if and when they do, you have what … (4 comments)

real estate: Cockpit View - 03/09/13 01:42 AM
Ok so I have a passion for flying, but this analogy I believe will resonate with many of you. We have all been schooled on the old adage that a windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason…so that we can see more of what lies ahead and less of what fades off behind us. Well, how about in the cockpit of an airplane? There is no rearview mirror; you are forced to only look forward and use your gauges (or your glass display depending on the age of your aircraft). Cognitive reasoning, interpretation, experience and correct action are … (0 comments)

real estate: The Discipline Factor - 05/21/12 04:55 AM
It’s amazing how climate can change attitude and production. We are so fortunate to have seasonal change in our region; fortunate because along with market changes, simple things like sunshine can get everyone moving again. This cyclical change in our industry not only affects Realtor’s, but it affects our customers. Now I know some agents stay busy all year long, but you must admit, there is something in the air right now and it’s been bustling since March 1st in most markets.
I will be the first to remind everyone that life happens and real estate is moving every day of … (1 comments)

real estate: Forming Good Habits - 12/12/11 06:18 AM
Statistics say it takes anywhere from 21 to 66 days to form a habit, any habit that is...both good and bad. Changes come about through forming new habits such as thinking differently, reacting differently, or behaving differently. Frustration can set in quickly while we wait for these changes to take effect and become more automatic. If it takes only 66 days to form a new habit, why do so many never reach their goal? Why does it seem that forming a bad habit is easier and happens sooner? For some, habits can form in as little as 18 days! It is … (1 comments)

real estate: Together is Better - 08/12/11 05:14 AM
Quotes are just words unless they have meaning for the reader. The quote  "If we are together nothing is impossible. If we are divided all will fail”, by Winston Churchill, seems so appropriate for the world we live in today. Either through tragedy or triumph, when humans come together for good cause, calm and healing prevail.  We have recently experienced government overthrows and demonstrations that have shook nations around the world. There comes a point when individuals want their opinion heard and when they come together with others, they become stronger.
Franchising has become more popular I believe mainly due … (0 comments)

real estate: 2011 is a year of Participation and Contribution - 01/10/11 09:55 AM

Many people look forward to the New Year for a new start on old habits…to that I say…resist! Keep the healthy habits and drop the unhealthy ones. We are off and running in 2011 and it is going to be a great year. The economy is recovering, attitudes are improving and we aren’t getting any younger. The time is now to take full advantage in improving your family, your career and yourself. Look hard at the things that didn’t work out so well and fix them, change is good and change is healthy. We live in the best country in … (1 comments)

real estate: A Decade Ends...A Decade Begins - 12/16/10 06:16 AM
Can you believe another 10 years has come and gone? The good news is…a decade is ending. The really good news is…a decade is beginning! Not only a whole new year is upon us, but a chance to make a new 10-year plan. Our lives are strung together in little pieces of a larger plan, often 5-year, 10-year or even more long range planning for where we want to be when we “grow up”. The little pieces are important, like fuel stops along the road of life on the way to our final resting place. However, the end game is most … (2 comments)

real estate: Forget the Fluff - 10/14/10 02:03 AM
I was talking to a well-respected Realtor in Michigan this past week and was asking her opinion on various issues. I was curious what was going on in her market with other offices and agents, and in particular, who may be some prospects I should go after to consider for our brand. While talking with her, she was telling me why she decides to stay at her company after 16 years. By the way, this was not a recruiting call for me, it was an informational call; I do not compromise my relationships by forcing our brand on them, and as … (4 comments)

real estate: Realtor Time... - 07/21/10 01:28 AM

Wise man once said “if you’re not 10 minutes early, you’re late!” That wise man was a boss of mine long ago.  I have to admit this is one of my biggest pet peeves, and likely yours as well. In an industry where we often set our own schedule and our own appointments, how could it possibly be that Realtors continue to run behind schedule? Now I know what you are thinking…”not me, I’m never late, I don’t fit into that category”. Uh huh. Oh, and I won’t single our industry out, this is widespread I am certain and no-one is … (7 comments)

real estate: If it is to be, it's up to me - 06/11/10 02:17 AM
I was sitting in a Regional meeting in Niagara Falls earlier this year and witnessed a magnificent display of professionalism, grace and determination played out in a presentation-style speech from our President of Canadian Operations, Joyce Paron. If you have not had the chance, or should I say luxury of listening to Joyce articulate a well-delivered and compelling story, well, you are missing something special. Every year at our EXIT Realty Convention Joyce handles a good share of the emcee responsibilities from the stage to all of us in the audience and she is so comfortable and genuine, you are instantly … (0 comments)

real estate: Corporate Training is Imperative - 03/09/10 11:29 PM

The only way to really know how to make a McDonald's hamburger is to attend McDonald's University, right? Well, we are no different at EXIT Realty. We recently hosted our quarterly Broker/Owner Training at our corporate offices in Mississauga, Ontario for new and returning EXIT Franchisees and all I can say is wow! This was our best B/O Training to date with full capacity attendance with participants ranging from all over the U.S. and Canada.
It is imperative we teach, train and coach our Franchisees to follow our one-of-a-kind business model at EXIT Realty and moreover to inindate them with … (0 comments)

real estate: An Open Mind Can Change Your Life - 01/05/10 02:00 AM
Certainly you have heard the line "a mind is like a parachute, it works best when open". I am more for facts than quirky lines but I can tell you more people have found success by having an open mind than those that have not. Is it generational? Is it blue collar vs. white collar? Is it based on making a conscious decision to for once in your life try something new? Whatever it is, it works. I have always been an open-minded person willing to dip my toe in the pool of risk and I have experienced both success and … (2 comments)

real estate: What the Successful Realtors Do That The Average Don't - 09/08/09 01:45 AM
Happy Tuesday to all of you professional Real Estate Agents. Today I want to share a secret with you. A secret about success in not only Real Estate, but life as well.
I am currently reading a book called "Training Camp" and it is about what the very best do that everyone else does not. In other words, what do the best of the best do to become the best that is so different than what the average do (or don't do). (By the way, this book was a surprise gift from the U.S. President of EXIT Realty Corp International, Tami … (2 comments)

real estate: I’m Still In Shock Over The Exit Realty Concept! - 04/28/09 03:16 AM

Another post from another top agent with EXIT Realty, published with permission from the author, Vince Arcuri at www.headofrealestate.com
I came to Exit for the single level residuals and the UNLIMITED potential they offer.  What I am in shock over is the constant offerings of first quality training available via live video and by the marketing tools offered to their agents and brokers to help them...... help US get property sold and closed.  The SUPPORT that is offered is just too good to believe if I were not experiencing it myself.  I had TWO closings just today that were a … (1 comments)

real estate: The Real Estate World will Change - 03/05/09 11:45 PM
This message was pulled from a blog on www.headofrealestate.com. Posted on February 26th, 2009 by admin and reposted with the permission of the author, Vincent Arcuri.
As I sit in my office thinking of how the real estate world operates, and I'm talking to Realtor's and Real Estate Franchises, I see the world changing before my eyes.  Since I am one of the highest ranking ERA Agents in the world, I feel like I can honestly evaluate all franchises models and tell you why I don't think they can or will survive this downturn.
ERA for example, charges me a 6% … (6 comments)

real estate: You Can No Longer Afford to be Indifferent - 01/17/09 06:05 AM
WARNING: The method in which this blog has been posted is one long story when in fact the article was posted in Real Estate Magazine by RisMedia. The original post is typset perfectly, however once posted it grouped the entire story together. Please take the time to read it, you will be glad you did. By Steve Morris There are those who make things happen, those who watch what is about to happen and the rest who wonder what happened. Some people instinctively know precisely what to do next in order to progress and succeed, and yet the high majority has … (3 comments)

real estate: Are you living abundantly? - 06/09/08 01:37 AM
Every great wealth building book ever written says we should be living abundantly. Achieving balance in all we do is the goal, right? Enough money and enough time to do all that we want to do in life. That may mean more time with family and friends, time for volunteering or worship; whatever, this picture will look different to each one of us. But, one thing is for sure, you can't get there if you are a slave to the almighty dollar.

THIS CARD IS THE EXIT SUCCESS CARD.  THIS CARD REPRESENTS 130 MILLION DOLLARS TOWARD ABUNDANT LIVING.
130 million dollars … (2 comments)
