Wisconsin Lakes; A Midwest Treasure! Minnesota boasts of their 10,000 lakes in the motto on their license plates, but many of us Wisconsinites suspect that we may have more and better lakes. I grew up near the town of Luck, Wisconsin, a town which is proud to have over 30 premium lakes within 10 miles. Two of those premium lakes bordered on our 860 acre dairy farm. During my youth I became very familiar with these two lakes. One of which was a highly used recreational lake, with tons of swimmers, boaters, and lots of summer fun.
