Fuel for a Productive Day, Enjoy a Breakfast of Champions!
A few weeks ago I was watching a video of Brian Tracy where he was talking about his morning routine for high productivity and was impressed at some of the similarities that we have.
Namely, eating a good breakfast, which does make a difference!!!
When I go to various meetings I am always disappointed to see that part of my registration fee is wasted on breads and pastries.  I learned years ago that these things make me want to take a nap, so I avoid them and just stick to my coffee and orange juice … (6 comments)

productivity: Productivity, John Maxwell with a Gary Keller twist on The One Thing. - 07/10/15 12:59 PM

Productivity, John Maxwell with a Gary Keller twist on The One Thing.
In today’s Word of the Day John Maxwell talks about Productivity.
I was happy to hear that he mentioned a variation on doing the One Thing, for him it is more of a one thing remaining thing rather than isolating it from the beginning like Gary Keller would recommend in his book The One Thing.
Recently I have been reading Gary’s book and have found it fascinating with some ideas that turn the science of time management on its ear.
Of course the idea that the book is named after is a key … (10 comments)

Working Around Never Ending Renovations and Construction, a Parable
When we first got to this place things were not perfect but I was happy, I could wait for things to get fixed and I really did not need any improvements or new bells and whistles.
I just wanted to get settled in and get to work, work without distractions.

Then a while back we got a new landlord who … (10 comments)

productivity: WMS App of the Year; “OK Google Now!” - 06/29/15 12:40 PM
WMS App of the Year; “OK Google Now!”
Last year a giant named AT&T hijacked our phone company and forced us to get new phones, the phones were unremarkable as most things with AT&T are, but they did have one app that made it a little more tolerable.
“OK Google Now!”, quickly became my favorite app of the year as I used it to save tons of time trying to type in dozens of commands into my new phone.
And best of all, it is remarkably accurate!
When I need to know how to find something, all I have to do is say “OK Google … (11 comments)

productivity: Making it a Great Week with Clearly Defined Goals. - 06/07/15 05:37 PM
Making it a Great Week with Clearly Defined Goals.

"In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it."
-- Robert Heinlein, American Novelist

Its been a busy weekend with some work and some rest, and now its time to review my goals and work out an action plan for the week.

I think that setting some time aside Sunday night or Monday morning to review goals and write up a game plan for the week can be the most productive time spent every week.

Ending a Week, Getting Ready for the Next One.
Here I am a few minutes shy of the end of another week, looking forward to starting a new and fresh one, thinking about some words of wisdom to share and some to absorb myself.
In a few minutes I will start making my list of accomplishments that I want to a check off this next week but before that I have a few things to check off from this past week.
Things like reviewing the things that we accomplished and the things that we did not.
Things like taking a few … (12 comments)
