Tick Checking, an Important Job that can be Fun
Though ticks are around throughout the year, we are now in the hieght of Tick Season in this part of the country.
You don’t have to go anywhere near the woods to be found by a wood tick or a deer tick.  We find most of them are lurking in the grass between the road and the woods and sometimes even in our lawn.
When I was a kid we did not get too excited about ticks, they were just a part of summer.  Lyme disease was not something that we had heard of yet … (6 comments)

Remember the Ticks are Still Active, Don't Forget to Check for Ticks After Those Fall Walks.
I took a break to go look at a woods today with one of my Foresters and came back with nearly a dozen tiny little Deer Ticks.
Whether you are hunting, hiking or just looking at rural properties, it is good to remember that these fellows are still active and looking for victims.
Deer Ticks are tiny and hard to see but they are the dangerous ones, so it pays to do a tick check, get your clothes in the washer, and jump in the shower soon after … (15 comments)
