real estate staging salem oregon: Home Selling Strategies in a Shaky Real Estate Market - 10/04/11 02:35 AM
When preparing a home for sale in Oregon, it's important to remember that details make a huge impact to potential buyers. Taking the time to enter the market with the best presentation possible can yield great results.  What has happened lately for some of our clients has blown us away -- full price offers within days of listing!
The last three houses we staged in Corvallis have moved so quickly -- all had offers within days. Their secret -- attention to every detail.
Clean - white glove clean - from pressure washing to windows washed
Maintained - Completing those deferred maintenance items helps buyers see the home as "their … (10 comments)

real estate staging salem oregon: Does My Beautiful Home Really Need Advice From a Home Stager? - 07/13/10 12:32 AM
Dear Home Staging Expert:
My home is beautifully decorated and I receive many compliments on my style and taste in furnishing and decor.   I'm preparing to sell in the near future and my real estate agent advised I hire a "home staging expert" to give me some advice.  I can't imagine what benefit I would receive from this service.  (I actually find it a bit insulting.)  Please advise.
Sincerely,
Divine Design Diane

Dear Diane:

real estate staging salem oregon: Who Pays for Home Staging? Agents or Home Sellers? - 06/08/10 11:14 AM
With many homes on the market and fewer home buyers, home staging has become more in demand than ever before.  Several agents and home sellers have asked us lately – who should pay for home staging?
Home staging makes houses easier to market — they look and “feel” better in person and in the listing photos. A quick sale of course benefits the real estate agent.  Should they pay for staging?
One example to consider:  If a home seller had carpets that needed cleaning, would the real estate agent advise them to do so?  Of course.  But they normally wouldn’t consider paying for the cleaning.  … (19 comments)

real estate staging salem oregon: Realtors - Quit Ruining My Vacation! - 06/22/09 01:15 PM
Last week I took a few much needed days off -- business has been extremely busy and it felt good to vacation.  Actually read a magazine and got to thinking that it would be great to have a few days to catch up at home, go pick some strawberries and maybe make a strawberry pie.  Maybe I should take a day and go to the beach, or Silver Creek Falls -- I love those places!!
Well -- while I was vacationing my evil real estate associates (I thought  some of them were my friends) have been foiling my plans.

real estate staging salem oregon: Selling Space? Make Sure It's Unforgettable! - 10/03/08 01:08 AM
Ever left a house and later asked yourself "how many bedrooms was that house?".    Was it 3 or 4?  After touring several homes they can all run together, and buyers may have a hard time remembering a vacant or unattractive room.  Add to that several different house hunting trips and those vacant and unappealing rooms are a forgotten glance.
Making sure each bedroom make a fantastic impression will help buyers prevent memory loss!  This bedroom is one I think they will remember -- and wish was their own!

Before staging, this room may not have been too memorable -- and … (6 comments)

real estate staging salem oregon: Preparing Your Home For Sale - Small Changes = Huge Results - 08/03/08 04:55 PM
Recently we visited a home that had been on the market for some time and the realtor and owners were frustrated that it was not getting any showings.  Here are the photos that were on the MLS:

The listing realtor provided a staging consultation.  We worked with the sellers on decluttering, paint colors and more -- these are the photos we took the next week.  I think they speak for themselves!

From orange walls and dark lighting to soft buttercream paint and hardwoods continued into the living room.  I'm not fond of the white curtains, but could not … (16 comments)

real estate staging salem oregon: Increase the listing price and offer received -- what changed? - It was Staged! - 07/17/08 01:02 AM
This Salem home has sat on the market for nearly a year.  It started out at $179k, was increased to $185 after a new roof and was being reduced to $169k. Frankly did not show well even though it had new carpet, paint and linoleum.
Before the online presence was -  well -- bland -- here are the actual photos:

We were hired with a very limited budget.  While I was was out buying curtains, the realtor stopped by and took these photos.  She was SO delighted and didn't realize that we were not done with the finishing touches … (2 comments)
