home staging: Start the New Year De-cluttering - 12/26/09 04:56 PM

DE-CLUTTERING by Louise Henry, Home Staging & Home Redesign Consultant Pair Home Design
Just hearing that word used to make me cringe as almost everywhere I looked I had things that I no longer wanted in my life and these things were dragging me down emotionally.  a few years ago I went thru some emotional upheaval and decided purging was a necessity and I wanted only to have things around me that reflected who I was.  This is all well and good but how did I untangle myself of the items I did not like, bought on that special holiday, … (14 comments)

home staging: Should a home go on the market with or without furniture! - 12/20/09 04:19 PM
This house had been on the market for several months with no offers,  I wonder why! staging the home prior to going on the market and MlS could have brought great benefit to this listing and sold faster and for more money?   After several months on the market and a considerable drop in the asking price to home owner a decision was made to call in the professional home stagers.
                                                    BEFORE STAGING

A small financial investment of approximately  $5 k brought offers to the table and in 5 weeks the house was SOLD... it speaks for itself

home staging: Fireplace facelift enhance your Focal point - 12/18/09 06:15 AM
Being that the fireplace is often the focal point in a living room its important that not only the art work and accessories above the fireplace are attractive but the fireplace itsself.
My client was redesigning her home for living so we focused on improving the look of the fireplace as the original contractor tiles were unappealing and dated
            BEFORE RENOVATION

After carefully removing old tiles to ensure we kept the drywall behind tile in tact, we painted the black fireplace to freshen the look and show off all of the black fireplace as alot of it was … (6 comments)

home staging: Increase the value of your home with a Kitchen Reno by Pair Home Design - 12/17/09 03:58 PM
What a fabulous sense of accomplishment I get from transforming my clients home into a an amazing functional living space.  My clients were so overwhelmed tonight to see their Kitchen renovation come to fruition, they can't wait to cook & entertain.   They were in AWE with the outcome. We choose a light birch shaker custom made cabinets to give the feeling of spaciousness as darker cabinets would make a kitchen feel & appear  smaller, we added soft close doors / drawers and amazing floor to ceiling pantry with stainless steel shelving and not to mention the lazy suzy.   To finish it off with installed european size … (8 comments)

home staging: Home staging Accessorize Do I or Don't I ! - 09/30/09 04:08 PM
Have you a real estate listing where the home has great bones, reasonable furniture but no pictures, art or accessories to make the home POP and keep potential buyers lingering in the home?  We had a tight budget to work with and had to be creative with what we had. well don't despair for a cost far less that adding all new furntiure a good Home Stager will be able to create a whole new look at minimal cost.

BELOW WE ADDED SOME GREEN LEAFY PILLOWS, GREENERY ALONG WITH SOME OLIVE GREEN PICTURES WITH SOME CANDLES AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE....

home staging: Improve a listing by engaging some added services - 08/24/09 02:56 PM
Being home stager I worked closely with my clients to de-clutter their home and get it ready for lising and staged before hitting the real estate market.  We began with De-cluttering which can be difficult for clients at the best of times with so many emotions attached to their home and their belongings,  Fortunately, my clients were motivated, we began with gettinga storage locker and the pictures tell a story...

Not exactle the same angle but i am sure you get the picture!.. First rule of thumb to good home staging is to DECLUTTER and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN if its … (5 comments)

home staging: Home Redesign Tips on hanging & arranging Art by Pair Home Design - 01/12/09 06:24 AM
Hanging Art by Louise Henry,  Pair Home Design                                               www.pairhomedesign.com

I find that most people have some nice art work and pictures however they are dispersed singularly all over the home.  I've discovered that art & pictures look best when they are grouped together and displayed as a feature wall.  The idea behind good art placement is to hang pieces suitable to height and width of wall & display color and themes that are cohesive to create balance and flow into each room of your home; this can be achieved by following a few simple steps.  Think of Art as … (2 comments)

home staging: More bang for your Buck with Bathroom Remodelling - Sellers /Investors - 12/23/08 12:52 PM
Grungy Unsightly Bathrooms can put off potential buyers from buying a home.   I find Many buyers either dont' have the financial resources or time & energy needed to fully renovate a bathroom.  As we all know with renovating we never know what we will find behind those 20 year old bathroom tiles and may the truth be known we really dont' want to know, somethings are just best left alone.
Remodelling a bathroom is far less expensive & time consuming never mind the disruption it can cause in a household and the comings and goings of trades people.   Remodelling gives a Fabulous … (1 comments)
