Spring is getting ready to spring upon us already.  We really can't believe how fast it has come.  But, nevertheless, it's here and it's time to do some Spring cleaning around the lake.  Therefore, the Lake of the Ozarks is calling upon its brave souls to help clean up the lake's shoreline.

Tax season is here again and the AARP Tax/Aide will have several volunteers in the Lake of the Ozarks area to help prepare hundreds of federal and state tax returns for lake area seniors.  Lake area residents that make up to $50,000 can receive this free quality income tax assistance and tax form preparation.

Lake of the Ozarks residents have been waiting to hear about the new Camden County master plan.  On February 23 and 24, the county will host two "Community Visioning Workshops." 
The County began a series of public meetings last summer as part of the whole revising process.  The first meetings were held back in August of 2008.  This second round of public meetings will begin this month with visioning workshops.

A new access point to the lake will open at the end of January  in Lake of the Ozarks .  The new 78-acre Wigwam School Access will be located at mile marker 66.5 just across from Duncan 's Point.  The new access point is named after an early 20th century school that sat on the property before the area was dammed in 1931 to create the Lake of the Ozarks .

The Lake of the Ozarks will soon see the new Passover Bridge project begin construction.  The original bridge plans have had to undergo some redesign to help the community save money, but the redesign will not compromise the structural integrity or traffic flow of the roadway.  The city is expected to save almost $100,000 with the bridge redesign.
Original plans called for a four-lane boulevard style road that would lead from the expressway to the expected John Q. Hammons' resort on Wilson Drive , which will start construction soon also.  Costs before the change were estimated to be almost $2 million.
