geist resevoir: A Simple Summer's Evening. . .

It's been hot, very hot in Indianapolis the last few days. So what do you do to keep cool and still enjoy the warm weather?
Have you tried an evening's drive around sunset time over to the Geist Resevoir? (Fall Creek & Brook School Rd.) I enjoy taking a drive in the convertible. It's cooler in the evenings, relaxing and beautiful.
HINT: You could also add a stop over at 116th street & Brook School Road at the Ritter's Ice Cream or maybe over at the McDonalds on Olio Rd.

geist resevoir: The Geist Area of Indiana

The Geist Resivoir is located on the North-East side of Indianapolis on the Marion and Hamilton county line. Land aquisitions by Indianapolis Water Company began around 1924 and the entire project was finished around 1943. Originally purchased and built as a water supply for Indianapolis. The resevior is fed by Fall Creek on the North side. The dam itself was contructed in 1942 and is located in the 8200 block of Fall Creek Road.
