college station real estate: A Pond By Any Other Name....

In Texas we call them ponds. People love ponds. One of the most frequently asked questions I get on land/farm and ranch listings is "Does it have a pond?" I have been told that they are called different things in other parts of the country. When conducting my MLS searches for properties with ponds I have noticed that in the comment sections some of my fellow realtors will state things like, "Good place for a pond" etc. It makes in come up in our searches if a keyword search has pond in them. HMMMMM. Food for thought.
Do you ever feel like the odd man out? That you ARE the square peg. That your coworkers act like the workplace is a high school cafeteria and you aren't part of the "IN" group. Well folks here is my advice- Look at those people and get a "'Tude". As in ATTITUDE The part of Fonzie on Happy Days was supposed to be a bit part. Fonzie had 'tude. Was he the cutest boy? (NO), was he the smartest? (NO) Did he work what he had? (YES) The perfect example was when he was standing in front of the mirror (2 comments)

My husband is not a realtor. He is a retired football coach and teacher. He does NOT get blogging. He will come by when I am on my computer, "What are you doing blogging?" " Is that going to make you any money?" Yada, Yada, you get the drift. I will tell him about interesting things I have learned on Activerain. He has not been enthusiastic. I am trying to get him to help me in real estate. (He has taken one class and he wasn't enthusiastic about that either). The only thing I want him to do is prospect (8 comments)
In the Stone Age we were limited to the number of words we could use to describe a listing. Newspaper, magazine, any print media charged/charges dearly for words. The internet frees us up for our verbiage to be wordy. What kind of words? Do we sell the Fireplace or the Fire? Do we put in 4 bedroom, 2 bath home with fireplace or do we warm our toes on a cold winter night before the crackling fire?
There are lots of ways to increase interest. Are we painting a picture? (9 comments)
