Carolyn Tann-Starr on Kathy Passarette and The Power of Social Media
Ever been to Hemingway's in Wantagh, New York? What an awesome place to make a reservation if you find yourself in Nassau county. I am sooo into foodie paradise spots and this place is Spanking-A if you'd like to have a business meeting in a family friendly restaurant. Kathy P and I were taking quite a chance picking a new restaurant to meet a client in, but the recommendation came from someone who assured us … (13 comments)

Cameron Wilson, Elizabeth Weintraub, Richard Weisser, Lizette Fitzpatrick,  Poppy Dinsey, Melody Botting and Susan Mangigian have a very interesting collective sense of humor. I love reading their blog posts and enjoy bantering with them across the Blogosphere. They are part of the Active Rain group Club Chaos which was co-founded by three Realtors: Amanda Hall, Melody Botting and Carolyn Tann-Starr.
Membership is by invitation only because the members nominate and sponsor other members. We want to grow at a slow, careful pace because our personal relationships matter to us. There is a lot more to us than just a bunch … (29 comments)

Cocina Latina Bar and Grill by The Silver Towers
It is 12:51 EST and I am a very happy camper. I will be on my way to Remax People Realty to update my contracts. Hubby is sleeping on the futon and Stephen is taking a break from being the Minion Blur (translated: sleeping in his crib). Before I go into the office, I am going to sneak out with my laptop and head on over to one of my favorite foodie paradise spots on Queens Blvd: Cocina Latina. Lunch is from 11:30 - 3:30, so I am making a bee … (17 comments)

The lovely A. Jin in the main conference room at REMAX People Realty
A. Jin contacted me the day she and her lovely family planned to drive to New York City from Canada. After relocating to New York State and settling in Brooklyn on Friday, she made arrangements to meet with me the next day. I picked her up Saturday and we, accompanied by one of her cousins, spent that afternoon and most of the evening together having mad fun chatting about our families and getting to know each other. She discovered the Active Rain Real Estate Network from using … (56 comments)

remax people realty: A Renter’s Perspective - 09/28/08 05:44 AM

One of the lovely things about surfing on the Internet is that people can use the search engines of their choice to find just about anything they desire. A significant number of people use the World Wide Web to search for their potential home. As a Realtor, if you do not have an on-line presence, you are doing your firm and yourself a disservice because you may be missing the opportunity to help someone find what he or she needs in your neighborhood. Someone looking to relocate into a new area can find millions of apartments for rent within the … (10 comments)

remax people realty: My First Year As A Realtor - 09/26/08 03:28 AM
"My First Year As A Realtor" and I don't know what to say. There are so many things I could talk about, but which one would be the most important?
I learned from Liz Moras that my real estate career can be like a roller coaster ride. My girlfriend certainly hit the nail on the noggin with that assessment. It has certainly been a wild ride...
I entered the market at a low point and watched it go from bad to worse. I took binders on deals that died from the unrealistic expectations of buyers and sellers. I went to contract … (53 comments)
