Stephen, the Minion Blur
Google Alerts For Real Time Tweets? Bite Me...
I like serial commenting, but not if Google is going to index and send me an alert for all of my tweets. Have you lost your social media mind? Who thought this was a bright idea? Seriously... Did you know that some of us have thousands of tweets floating through cyberspace? You are now telling me what I first tweeted and what my friends have re-tweeted from @CTannStarr? (As if I didn't know... sigh. Oh... wait... tweets are news now... LOL)
I understand the need for reporting real … (21 comments)

Social Media Optimization is the name of the game. If you want to play, you have to do something remarkable to engage your audience while working within the confines of the community rules of your social platform(s).
People only talk about what makes an impression on them. How is your blog affecting your readership and what does the aggregate of your collective social media accounts say about you? ActiveRain, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter... it doesn't matter which … (12 comments)

twitter: PDD-NOS strikes again: Stephen the Minion Blur drowned my Sprint Rant in the toilet... - 07/03/09 04:35 PM

Stephen the Minion Blur in one of his infamous PDD-NOS moments drowned my Sprint Rant in the family toilet. Look at him. Napping all innocent with Mike and Noah as if the death of my electronics never crossed his tiny little PDD-NOS mind. I have said it before and I will say it again. They may look innocent but don't let 'em fool you. Living with Autism and PDD-NOS is a trip (LOL).
I can't believe I don't have a friggin' cell phone again... That really whomps because I live on my cell phone. My mind just short circuited with … (11 comments)

The World According To Twitter Sesame Street BookExpo America
Carolyn Tann-Starr on David Pogue
BookExpo America 2009 introduced me to several new concepts regarding "book blogging." There was a very interesting forum going on where the publishing houses were very interested in bloggers doing reviews and linking back to works so that their readers could discover what new titles were coming out. I think if I ever had to hire help to do this the best ActiveRain group for the job would be Realtors and Friends Who Read.
I knew RAFWR did this because they love sharing their reading lists but … (5 comments)

I am going to take a moment and quote Google because I don't see any reason to mess it up with my personal take on the opportunity at hand. I think they summed it up quite nicely. Ready? Read. I quote,
"Become qualified in Google Analytics. The Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ) is a proof of proficiency in Google Analytics. After passing the Google Analytics IQ test, you'll be effective at leveraging Google Analytics within your organization and helping others to do the same. Every second a digital wave of infinite possibilities oscillates through the Internet. My question to you is are you going to embrace the technology or are you going to ignore blogging as a viable part of your business plan?
It was recently reported that Facebook registered over 1.2 billion visits, MySpace over 800 million and Twitter over 54 million during January of 2009. In the interim of 31 days a tremendous amount of information exchanged minds on a global scale, digitally dancing across … (89 comments)

Deborah Stone wrote this really great and very brief real estate post entitled, "Are You Saying What I Think You Are Saying?"
She also wrote another short post entitled, "Are You Interested In What I Do, Or Are You Just Picking My Brain?"
I have been sitting over here cracking up laughing because those two Real Esate blog post titles remind me of Twitter quips. When I created @CTannStarr it was with the intention to keep in touch with my friends and send my psycho-babble tweets into their friend feeds. When I created @ClubChaos, it … (11 comments)

twitter: I Am Very Honored To Introduce My Friend Rosemarie Pena - 12/21/08 10:16 PM

Rosemarie Pena
The wonderful thing about social media is that you never know who you are going to meet and become friends with. The potential to connect is available on so many levels I would never presume to define the variables that make on-line relationships grow. A Tweet-peep here and a Facebook there... a third party introduction... everywhere you look there's an ActiveRainer...
People looking to connect usually find a way to fulfill their expectations. Sometimes they exceed our wildest dreams. Other times, we are saddened by our level of disappointment. We don't always get what we want, but once … (27 comments)

@sernovitz is a very interesting Tweet-peep. He brought this article to my attention, which had me really thinking about what it is we are doing when we don't pay attention to our branding strategies.
Colleges and vocational institutions need to up their game to help protect our children from joining social media groups which appear to have an affiliation with them (or an official sanction) but do not. We have to teach our children to be careful with their associations and who they decide to share information with before it is too late... Just because your child is grown does … (16 comments)

It's brief but it makes some very good points about what people would like to see. I love using Firefox. If the Chrome browser improves, maybe I'll give that puppy a test ride. I haven't tried it out yet. Have any of you?
