The May contest is off and running for free closing gifts, so take a moment to send your entry. As I have often said, "the odds are great -- much better than Lotto" for winning. Unlike most of you who are sweating out the current market working harder than ever to sell homes, I have been working hard to market custom closing gifts to realtors. Gratefully, many ActiveRainers have become customers, and I have gladly passed on referrals to realtors when the opportunity has come up. Now, after 2+ years, I want to get some additional feedback on my products. So, if you have a moment or two to spare, please help me out. The website for my closing gifts is: www.wevemovedgifts.com. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on: 1. The appearance of the site. 2. Your perception of (1 comments)

closing gifts: The appeal of your closing gifts determines how it, and You, will be remembered
- 04/15/08 01:49 AM
Customized closing gifts are a very personal way of saying, "Thank you" to your clients. While there are many appealing gift-giving ideas -- from baskets to gift cards -- that are all appreciated, I have found from speaking to realtors that for the "Homerun" of gifts, personalize it. There is something very emotional about seeing your new home on a gift after the stress leading up to the closing table. Now, mind you, I do make closing gifts. However, as any of you also do, I speak with my customers and try to adapt to what works for them and makes their (0 comments)

closing gifts: Sometimes a Mistake is not a bad thing -- A little embarrassing perhaps
- 02/22/08 08:51 AM
Well, for those of you who have noticed, I have been running a contest on Active Rain to win free closing gifts. All anyone had to do was look at a couple of photos on my website, tell me two changes they noticed between the before and after shots, and they were entered. I have touted the great odds and the opportunity to win. So, this week I received an email from a realtor who basically asked me to explain why I charge a $35.00 retouching fee when he couldn't see a difference in the I Spy pics. Ooops. Somehow I posted (7 comments)

closing gifts: Two Down and Six to Go
- 12/06/07 12:10 AM
Late yesterday afternoon I was scurrying around desperately trying to find two small gifts for my kids to give them on the second night of Hanukkah -- which was last night. (Nothing like planning ahead!) I knew that if I didn't hit it right, the chins would drop, even though I knew they would try real hard to look delighted. (They're great kids.) But, honestly, I couldn't help but think, "I've got to be crazy to put myself under this kind of stress." So, we lit our Hanukkah candles. And I delivered. All were happy and the world continued to rotate. This morning, (1 comments)
Now I know I bought her the gum, but it just had not hit me what I had done at the time. Call it the upcoming holidays and the nostalgia that accompanies the season, but I was overcome with memories. The clock is ticking as the holidays are rapidly approaching. No doubt you have begun to scurry around for family gifts, but do you also incorporate client gifts into your season's budget?I have no clue how many agents give holiday gifts. The only thing I do know is that the clients who purchase the largest numbers of closing gifts from me throughout the year also give holiday presents. It is pretty obvious that they have successful marketing plans just from the volume of closing gifts they purchase -- and that their plans include a high level of personal contact. You need not (0 comments)
