November is Diabetes Awareness Month (Type 1 Diabetes) The photo is of my daughter Allison who was diagnosed with T1D on March 23, 2014 at the age of 15. Type 1 diabetes is where the pancreas stops working and the person can no longer produce insulin. A person with T1D would die without insulin. My daughter takes multiple injections per day, she uses a pump which is inserted into her belly to deliver insulin to her body.
