I know I enjoyed our weather here at the Jacksonville Beaches in Florida this past weekend - it was our first sunny days in the past week, after a week of Nor'easter weather kept us in rain and cloudy skies. First Street from Ponte Vedra Beach to Atlantic Beach was packed with cyclists, pedestrians, moms with babies in strollers, and skateboarders. It's important for those visiting our area, or new to our area be aware of how to drive safely given the large influx of non-vehicular traffic. It's been a long time coming! Jacksonville, Florida's Transportation Planning Organization is conducting a survey to address resident's concerns. Rated one of the worst large cities for cycling and pedestrian accidents, Jacksonville, Florida is the largest metro area in the United States, with 885 square miles, we have miles of roadways that are not as cycling and pedestrian friendly as they could be.
