jacksonville florida: Product Review - Facetime - 07/29/13 09:53 AM

I have to share my experiences with Facetime!
As a recent convert to the iOS (last July, when I got my iPad), I have not used Facetime very much until this year.
Thanks to having the Facetime ability, I was able to help a military first time homebuyer tour their new home using Facetime.
Facetime is a face to face phone call, only available on the iOS, that works on iPad to iPad, or iPad to iPhone - and it's the best thing when you have a family relocating and their is no budget or time for a physical trip … (6 comments)

jacksonville florida: Bank of America & Purple Heart Homes, Jacksonville, FL - 07/27/13 12:27 AM
I saw this and just had to share: a disabled veteran was given a home locally by Bank of America and Purple Heart Homes, right here in Jacksonville!
Now, I knew there were donations such as this. I had heard Wells Fargo was doing something similar, but I was not aware that Bank of America was doing a similar project.

jacksonville florida: Aardwolf Brewing Company, Jacksonville, FL - 07/17/13 06:41 AM

I recenlty had the chance to visit Aardwolf Brewing Company for a Historic/Downtown NEFAR Council kick off event.
Having worked in San Marco, I really do miss the bars & restaurants in that area, and while the beach isn't that far, sometimes, it sure seems that way.
Aarwolf Brewing Company has transformed a San Marco building (their website states it's an old icehouse), located along the railroad tracks into a super cool place.
The whole thing feels like a loft transported from NYC and dropped here - exposed brick, reclaimed wood, funky lighting.  Add two separate rooms … (3 comments)

jacksonville florida: Jacksonville's Haydon Burns Library & Jessie Ball duPont Fund - 07/01/13 08:53 PM

The Haydon Burns Library is a landmark in downtown Jacksonville, even though the building no longer houses a library.
i was unaware until today that the library building sits on the former site of the "new" City Hall which was built after the Great Fire of 1901. The Great Fire was one of the worst disasters in Florida history. In eight hours, the fire burned 146 city blocks, destroyed more than 2,368 buildings, and left almost 10,000 residents homeless. It is said the glow from the flames could be seen in Savannah, Georgia and the smoke plumes all the way in Raleigh, North … (6 comments)

jacksonville florida: Brunet-Garcia Wins Four National Addys, Jacksonville, FL - 06/16/13 01:03 AM
I realize this is a diversion from real estate, but hey, I did have a life before real estate, and it was in advertising.
The ADDYs are the advertising equivalent of the Golden Globes, frankly, and it's a huge accomplishment to be awarded a national ADDY (there are local, state and national levels).
This is fabulous recognition for a local advertising agency, as well as our area.
