You may want to think again: there can be consequences if you rent your primary homesteaded residence for periods of time. How exactly? Jerry Holland, Duval County Property Appraiser, met with the Beaches Northeast Florida Association of Realtors this morning. He shared that the office is using all means available (including social media) to confirm possible cases of either homestead abuse or potential homestead fraud. In short, if you rent your primary homesteaded property for more than 30 total days in a two year period, you will be ineligible for the Homestead Exemption and the Save Our Homes cap. vrbo: Traveling to Uruguay - Any Advice?

We are thinking of traveling to Uruguay for Christmas this year, and wondered if anyone had done this. Ideally we are looking to rent a small bungalow, preferably close to the coast, on a working farm or something similar. We have decided to drive to Miami, and catch a direct flight to Montevideo, and then we'll rent a car and do our best to live like locals. I've looked at VRBO for rentals, and there are some incredible deals for as low as $99 a night, which is fabulous.
