boise: Inspection in the rain.

Today it is time for the great reinspection.... Frankly I am nervous. We have had over 1 inch or rain fall in Boise.... First as snow then as rain.... It is a soggy mess in Boise.... Any faults will be revealed today... My seller has fixed and disclosed a lot of items... But have not been tested because we need rain to test.... I would have preferred the rain to have come some other day....It would have been nice to test the new gutters, skylights, etc.... before the reinspection... So we will see what today brings.... Well it finally happened! We have a snow day!!! As a matter of fact I think the winter storm warning was for the entire state of Idaho! I did a good job to warn my dad and wife to drive through last night and not stop in Salt Lake City....

I want to wish you a Happy New Year from Boise Idaho! I celebrated as I ussually do with family members (who are in town) and a few friends... This year seemed a little sadder since 2 of our 3 sons were in other countries. My eldest skyped us at 11:50 PM Boise time with a video call from Beijing and we shared the New Year with him. Well on Sunday I made a mistake....I don't know why I made a mistake...Maybe I was in a hurry...Maybe the other phone was ringing....Maybe I was to busy trying to get ready for the open house.... I received the first call from an ad on 12/5/2011... Well today started well..... But I made a big error when I set up my buyers appointment....I didn't set a place to meet....I didn't have her cell phone number....We were supposed to meet between 1 and 2 pm today... She was supposed to bring her granddaughter....At 9 AM I started trying to reach her....I have tried every hour since then. I left 2 messages and an Email.... I hope she doesn't have a system that tracks the number of calls.... This should be my last open house of 2011! As Christmas approaches people get busy and the open houses are less effective. Of course maybe if I am bored I will do it again next week... They say doing an open house every week shows desperation...Well I am getting desperate to sell this beautiful Boise home in a beautiful subdivision before Christmas. What a wonderful present to give oneself....A place for the tree and a place to hold the holiday....Of course I am Jewish so I celebrate a different holiday...So a place to light the menorah in the beautiful bay window … (2 comments)

The Overland Park Cinema is a fun family oriented place that is affordable and family operated and family run. The man who owns this theater is a math teacher at North junior high school. I believe he inherited the movie theater. My math professor hubby has volunteered when this man wanted to take the math club to Boise State University for a math competition. They seem to like each other and once in a while when he is at the cash register he lets us in free. But the occasional free tickets isn’t why I like the theater….
As a physical chemist I am a numbers type of gal. I like numbers….Breath numbers…. Think in numbers….I am married to a numbers type of guy …. A Math Professor at Boise State University. I started blogging in January of 2008…. I did it here and there but didn’t pay any attention to the points…. I took a break from blogging (OK I occasionally signed on and blogged). Some agents like open houses.... Some don't.... It probably depends on how busy you are and if it is safe to hold the open house.... I know people who try to make it into a party. I know some that have heavy print advertising. I know an agent that will spend all weekend at a listing. Well here is what I do.... Well the first thing to consider is your client. I did it!!!!! I made the postcard using my mls mailer! It looks like I wanted it to and I emailed it to the A's and B's.... I probably can't do them all today but I am pleased with the results. I am embarrassed to say that I spent 3 or 4 hours trying to make this work in the hotmail mailer. This format also works in the hotmail mailer... Yesterday I had the privilage of watching 30 people from 11 nations become American Citizens.... It was quite an honor. I usually find out after the fact that someone became a citizen... A client of mine has been married to an American for 15 years. She is an educated and articulate woman. She took the test last month. Her husband had a very important business meeting and it seemed too important an event to attend alone.... Even if the attendee was your real estate agent.... So I went.... I have been in Boise for 20 years....I have raised my children here....Last year for the first time I went to the Botanical garden's ...This sparkling event runs from December 2 to January 8. It fun for the whole family and takes an hour or so. For more details click on the Idaho Botanical Garden website.

We just had to reject a counteroffer.... The house is a bit overpriced and my buyer needs closing costs.... I will tell a tale about two ex'es who could have made a difference.......First we will talk about today's offer.... We offered a little low...A fair price but not a great price....The agent informed me that at the price and conditions of the offer the seller would have to come to closing with $8000. I am sort of a politician....I take my stands....My last stand has been published in a local paper...
