broker: How to think about the coronavirus? - 02/07/20 06:43 AM
I am known to be a smart lady.  A scientist in fact.  About a week ago my broker asked me what I thought of the new virus.   I hemmed and hawed and basically felt we did not have the facts.   I felt that the virus probably did not have the cases rate reported because I believed that the actual cases were underreported.  I thought that at the time there could easily be 200,000 cases.  Then in the next breath I muttered that the deaths might be being underreported because it only counted as a death from the virus if it was … (13 comments)

broker: My craziest deal - The money is in the suitcase - 12/04/19 06:21 AM
It was during the foreclosure crisis.  I must have picked them off via Zillow or Trulia.  They were a couple.  The woman was very pretty and the man seemed sort of macho with tats.  They told me they could buy a home and were prequalified.   They wanted to see property with some privacy.  They seemed to want to see some expensive property and bid low.  I located a wonderful property with a beautiful views of the foothills and the city.  The house wasn't too nice but they wanted to bid low and the offer was refused.   They paid their earnest money … (10 comments)

broker: My schedule for today so far! - 11/25/19 07:42 AM
Today should be a busy fun day with work and such!

I started today with a text to my new broker talking about my land sale.  We will meet at 3 PM today but he told me to stand firm.  The buyer is just trying to get a better deal; my broker thinks that my land is well priced.  Wow!

I take a friend to the airport at 10 AM.

Afterwords I go to my political coffee at the Flying M.

At 1 PM I go to lunch with a friend and former client.

At 3 PM I meet with my broker.

broker: Yesterday, I was not at my best. - 11/24/19 06:05 AM
It started at 1 AM on Friday.  I woke up and looked at my Facebook.  Someone had posted inflammatory fake news earlier and I refuted it.  I had started a minor flame war.  I woke up and got my sources added to my comments.  By then I was awake.  I stayed awake until 4:30 AM.  I only fell asleep by taking advantage of my diabetes and eating lots of carbs to raise my sugar (not an approved way to get sleep).  I woke up groggy.

I went to synagogue and before I even entered the door I annoyed 2 of my friends.  We are … (7 comments)

broker: the roller coaster of real estate... - 11/08/13 11:53 PM
Sometimes I feel like I am on a roller coaster.    Yesterday would be a great example. First we can start the day with I had a plan for having 8 for dinner at 6 PM....
I go by the home I am trying to list and I see a FSBO sign.   I call the number on it and it is the sister to the person I am trying to deal with.   At the moment my broker is offering 70k and they haven't decided what they want to do.   I am trying to push the broker up to 80K but so far … (4 comments)

broker: Offer...Counter offer....Counter offer.... - 11/29/11 12:21 PM
Well I have a beautiful listing that has been sitting....  We had made some price reductions. We were going to make the next one and I let the interested parties know....  Well I had a lowball offer with closing costs.....At the time of the offer we were about 9 K apart (thinking of new price)....I counter so that we are 3 K off the new price with closing costs...She counters so that we are 6 K off....
This is a broker bidding for her daughter....We will see if we settle this....I sure hope so...The house is great and her kids love … (5 comments)

broker: Working from the hospital room.......My stay in California.... - 08/08/11 01:05 PM
In the last post my step-mom was in the ICU.  She is getting better and will finally have the surgery on her arm tomorrow... It has been a very difficult week and my step-sister in law and I took the car home this weekend.  I do not have pictures from the hospital but I will include one from a break at the beach on Thusday... I do love the ocean. I actually went in fully clothed because I left Boise in a hurry and had no time to get a swim suit.

Now as an active real estate agent … (6 comments)
