home: Rafting in Riggons - 07/24/16 11:02 PM
I flew home on Southwest.  Standard procedure is that the early birds take either the asle or window seat.  My standard procedure is to take the first seat available that looks promising.   On my first plane I had a very nice conversation with a lady going to Chicago who was traveling with an elderly relative.
On the next phase I sat between a sleeping teenager and her mother.   I do not know why they don't move to sit together but they don't.
Since we were going to my home I asked what brought them to Boise.  Turns out they were going rafting in … (5 comments)

home: Coming home on a jet plane - 07/23/16 12:17 AM
Today I come back to Boise!   I am coming home on a jet plane.   I always like coming home.   This time I did not rent a car so being home will be liberating.  I can also implement the business plan I laid out while I have been gone.
I am home one week before my hubby takes his turn in Washington.   So on Monday is catch up Monday.  I will shift from the caretaker to the Realtor.
So I am leaving on a jet plane.
As I left I blogged about I Like the Boise airport.

home: multigenerational family - 04/07/14 11:48 PM
I have known the Smith's for 23 years....  They used to live down the street from me....  They are perhaps the most wholesome wonderful people I know....  I was walking down the street with my 2 children (aged 4 and 2) and stopped and talked to another lady with a 5 year old.... We have been good friends ever since.  They are responsible for many good things in our life and many wonderful memories....  Someday I will write about them....
They left the neighborhood about 12 years ago to move into a larger home.  They bought a 2400 sq ft … (1 comments)

home: We have our snowpack back! - 02/17/14 12:41 AM
I was getting worried.  I had never saw the Lucky Peak Resevour so low.... It looked like a little puddle with the docks at least 30 ft above the puddle.   They were talking about farmers not getting their water.  That would mean no crops.  Animals not getting enough water.   I would have to use city water if I wanted my grass to be green.
Some ski areas hadn't opened.  Now some of our mountains have an above average snow pack.  Skiing is good. Sledding is good.  It looks better for the farmers.
Of course we have had to endure some rainy … (0 comments)

home: Valentine's day and homes go together. - 02/14/14 12:38 AM
Happy Valentine's day.   When  you love and cherish someone you often want to make a home together.  I wonder how many people will get engaged today?
I would like to think that Valentine's day is about love not lust.  The two can be related.  It is good to remember to treat your life partner with love not just today but every day.   I also love my children, my parents, my brother and my friends.   I cherish my relationship with each and everyone of them.
This is the 30 th Valantine's day my husband and I have been together.  26 years … (3 comments)

home: Went to show a home .... Buyer failed to show..... - 11/11/13 12:08 PM
Today I got a floor call.  This doesn't happen very often.  The lady wasn't working with a Realtor and wanted to see the home that was listed by a colleague.  They wanted to see it at 7:30 PM.  I had a meeting to go to but I left early to drive to Nampa.  I got there just in time!  I turned on all the lights and waited 1/2 hour.  I called her but her answering machine picked up.  I then drove the 1/2 hour ride home.
It has happened before.  I try not to get to upset but the truth is … (4 comments)

home: Sometimes a seller has to cut their losses. Dad's house has to sell. - 09/04/13 12:37 AM
Yesterday I was called by a former client's mother (Jane)(I love referrals!).  I knew this lady for 15 years since she used to work at Eyemart Express in Boise.   We have 4 out of 5 of us in glasses.  One starting at 5 years old and the other at 8 years old.  Eyemart has a good warranty and prices so that is where we went.   Everybody knew the me and the Holmes' boys.
Jane's dad died a year ago in May.  At first they had a friend live there.  All he had to do is pay for the utilities.   His wierd … (1 comments)

home: Preparing for the open house.... - 12/04/11 05:25 AM
Some agents like open houses.... Some don't....  It probably depends on how busy you are and if it is safe to hold the open house....   I know people who try to make it into a party.  I know some that have heavy print advertising.  I know an agent that will spend all weekend at a listing.
Well here is what I do....
Well the first thing to consider is your client.  Do they want you to do an open house?  Some find it intrusive.  When is it convenient for them?  After all it is all about them! The next thing look … (11 comments)

Thanksgiving is coming and 2 of 3 sons are coming home.  The eldest is in Beijing and he and his GF are going to celebrate with peking duck... The middle one has been in Cambridge for the last four years and is now at RPI for graduate school and is coming home....The youngest is at a freshman at a liberal arts college near home....
I ran around buying food that my boys like and planning menus.....Today I actually was domestic enough to make my pie crust from scratch....They are baking while I write this...My dad and stepmom and her sister will … (7 comments)
