john l scott: Our brokerage gave to the to St. Lukes Children's Hospital

One of the many reasons I joined my new brokerage was the idea that we give back to the community. When I joined I promised $20 of every commission check to the John L. Scott Foundation. This year we gave to the St. Luke's Children's Hospital! This is a worthy charity that helps sick children stay in Idaho. They have a special hospital just for children, plus they just built the Elks children's pavilion! Follow this link to donate.
In return for our contribution we were given a tour of the brand new pavilion. This is a series of doctor's offices, a parent's quiet work area, (4 comments)
john l scott: What are you doing for your clients this holiday?

The first thing I always give my clients is good service. I am sure you do too. Many of us also give little presents or cards to share with our client base for the holidays.
This year I decided to force bulbs. It sounded like a great idea but I started to late. They will be ready in mid January. Mid winter gifts I guess.
This is what I want.
Maybe I should talk to the greenhouse.
I am also sending out Emails to my clients. I can do cards where I have the addresses. It would remind them that I (3 comments)

I have been feeling stiffer and less mobile this last year. I had been walking in the foothills but alas I lost my ability. There was no reason I should have I just stopped going there. I still can walk forever on the flat. I miss the foothills and my diabetes numbers are getting worse. The doc is talking about injectible medicines. I have found all medicines have some side effects. If I don't watch what I eat and exercise I have problems. Of course I am not alone. I kept thinking I would get back to it but I haven't.

john l scott: Roofs and other things

As a Realtor and property manager I have maintenance. This allows me to become familiar with good contractors. I do not know if I hire the best but if I do not like them I do not hire them again. This seems to be a year of roofs. Not a happy topic.
My client found a good roofer who was willing to tackle her older homes roof for a reasonable price. I was impressed with the work and the diligence that he showed when placing the roof. There were all sorts of odd angles and a place where there were 6 layers (0 comments)
john l scott: I am now an agent at John L. Scott

After 14 years with the same agency my broker decided to close up shop. I was not happy but I have to admit I have become stagnent. I interviewed at 2 places. John L. Scott and where my broker set us up at. The other agency was good and big. Really really big. 1/8 of the agents in Idaho belong there.
Well I have known the broker at John L Scott for 25 years. I have great respect for him. He got all of my really strange real estate questions over the years. I decided to talk to him too. I (6 comments)
