Do You Have Good Tires on Your Car in tThis Weather?    Town Fair Tire

It's always a good idea to have proper tires, but in the snow and ice we have had this winter, it is crucial.   I have had semi bald tires on the front of my car, and have been avoiding driving in the bad weather.   Finally, today, Presidents' Day, I have the time, and am sitting at Town Fair Tire to get brand new tires on the front.   Actually, they shifted the backs to the front, and are placing the new on the … (36 comments)

snow: Icicles, Snow, And Ice Damming in Wilton CT - 02/09/14 10:03 AM
Icicles, Snow, And Ice Damming in Wilton CT
Do you have icicles hanging from your Wilton rooftops?
Do you have frozen water running down your walls inside or out?
Do you have water dripping from your window frames inside your upstairs bedrooms?
If you have all of these things or some of the things happening inside your Wilton CT home, you have what is referred to as ice damming, which brings water damage to the interior.    It is usually indicative of poor insulation in the attic.

snow: Winter Wonderland of 2014 Already! - 01/03/14 12:43 PM
Winter Wonderland of 2014 Already!

Snow and frigid temperatures were the answer for today.   Our snow blower was temperamental, so I shoveled out half of the driveway (or at least it felt like it!)   -  But it is beautiful!!!
Then had 2 sets of buyers sign paperwork tonight - all in all, a good day!

Protecting Your Bushes for the Winter in Wilton, CT 06897

Don't forget your bushes and small trees in the dead of winter, - when the snow storms dump two feet of heavy wet snow, the bushes begin to bend and break under the weight of it all.
The winter of 2010 was a very snowy one, with two feet of snow every week.   Our bushes and small shrubs and trees were taxed beyond their strength - and not only did we lose a lot of bushes and shrubs, but we also lost roofs of buildings under the weight of the … (9 comments)

snow: The weather is not as nice in CT as in Vancouver! - 02/19/10 05:23 AM
In CT, we have had snowstorm after snow storm.    Last year, in January, my witch hazel chose to bloom!   Gorgeous yellow blossoms all over it, lasting for a month.   It carried us through until we got crocuses in March.

This year, however, not a one open yet, and we're nearing the end of February.  That means we won't see our crocuses until April this year!

I am soo excited about this Active Rain!!!
I have always assumed that it would take years and years of blogging and a beautiful website, etc.  I have been semi-active with Active Rain now for three years, and put up a post on my blog occasionally.
I just looked at what would happen if I googled "Wilton CT real estate," and found that Active Rain was near the top of the first page, and I am featured, so it immediately  puts me out there!   The only competition on the first page was big brokerage houses, which is to be … (7 comments)
