shreveport home inspection: Lighting: Bulb and Fixture Types - 05/09/08 07:55 AM
Energy Use in Home Lighting
Lighting accounts for 30% to 50% of a building's energy use, or about 17% of total annual U.S. electricity consumption. Ninety percent of the energy emitted by incandescent bulbs is in the form of heat, and only 10% is in the form of light. This means that not only is money wasted on inefficient lighting, but using incandescent bulbs lights increases cooling costs.
TYPES of LIGHTING
Compact Florescent
Generate 70% less heat, they're safer to operate and can cut energy costs associated with home cooling. Use at least 2/3 less energy than standard incandescent bulbs … (4 comments)

shreveport home inspection: Mud Bug Madness Returns For it's 25th Year - 05/04/08 02:47 AM

This festival occurs this May 25th - 28th, in downtown Shreveport. Most all of the locals compete to eat the most "mudbugs," which to most yankies normal people is really a crawdad. Their little nasty bodies litter the streets while roudy Cajun hicks hoot and holler and participate in such events as the crowning of King and Queen Mudbug. It is fun for all. There are three stages with live music almost all the time. There is even a kids stage, for the little ones.
Driving Directions:
From I-20 West:Take Spring Street exit. Festival Plaza is located underneath Spring Street Bridge at Crockett Street (approximately 2 blocks from the interstate).

shreveport home inspection: I finally made it to the 10,000 point mark - 04/16/08 01:56 AM
Well to all my AR friends. I finally made it to the 10,000 point mark. I always hear the first 10k is the hardest. I have learned that the points just come naturally if you just want to share with people what you know.
Thanks to all who have read my posts.

shreveport home inspection: Disable right click on your website - 04/16/08 01:49 AM
One of the things you can do so that people will have a harder time copying your information, put the following css code in right after your . Just copy and paste it.
<script language="JavaScript1.1"><!-- Begin<br>function right(e) {<br>if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape' &&<br>(e.which == 3 || e.which == 2))<br>return false;<br>else if (navigator.appName == 'Microsoft Internet Explorer' &&<br>(event.button == 2 || event.button == 3)) {<br>alert("Sorry, you do not have permission to right click.");<br>return false;<br>}<br>return true;<br>}<br> <br>document.onmousedown=right;<br>document.onmouseup=right;<br>if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN);<br>if (document.layers) window.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEUP);<br>window.onmousedown=right;<br>window.onmouseup=right;<br>//  End --></script>
I hope that this will help someone.

shreveport home inspection: What not to do in designing your website - 04/14/08 10:36 AM
In the last few weeks I have been discussing items that you should perform on your website to increase your search engine rankings. This week I'm going to list a few things you shouldn't do!1. Don't copy content!! I've seen many of you who are using a few hosts that load your site with tons of content. The problem is that they load the other sites in the industry with the exact same content. These hosts are giving you a template to get started with, which is great. You are responsible for editing the pages and making them your own. If you don't you're hurting … (19 comments)

shreveport home inspection: 10 Ways to raise your site in Google Part 8a - 04/06/08 08:51 AM
As promised, last week  I covered how to add RSS to your site in a very easy way that makes your site a little more interesting, but doesn't give a huge boost to your SEO. This week's method is a little more difficult but will help out your rankings A LOT more as the actual text will be on your page for the spiders to see. Using this method you can insert news stories about local cities, improving your search engine rankings for those terms. Creating one page per city would work great. You will notice if you look at the source code … (11 comments)
