 Book Signing in Southern Pines
Virginia Boyd read from her first novel, One Fell Swoop, on November 15th at The Country Bookshop in Southern pines, NC.  Virginia was a delightful reader, and the book is a humorous vignette of life in a small Southern town.  The small bookshop filled the seating for the event and sold out of copies of Virginia's book.  Her comments about living in a small town and having such a sense of community were the inspiration for her writing.  She helped all of us appreciate the value of small town living.

Virginia Boyd's first novel is currently front and center on the "New Author's Table" at the leading booksellers across the country.  One Fell Swoop is a novel in stories, roughly based on her childhood memories of growing up in a small Southern town.
Virginia received her undergraduate degree from Duke University, and received her Masters in Creative Writing from NC State University, while studying with the renowned author, Lee Smith.  She also was an English professor at Saint Mary's and created and taught a special creative writing course for senior citizens at the Duke's Continuing Education Program.
