bethesda: Thankful for the Wonderful Walking Women - 11/27/17 09:02 AM
I live in an amazing neighborhood.
There are so many great things about living in Charred Oak Estates, a tree-lined neighborhood in West Bethesda. I was first attracted to this neighborhood by the large wooded lots. The winding roads, the circles and the hills were also appealing. In the spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the neighborhood looks and smells fantastic.
The schools have very high ratings, it's convenient to a handful of grocery stores and shopping areas and you can get into Washington DC, or Virginia, or anywhere on the beltway easily.
The thing I am most thankful for when it … (1 comments)

It is located at the corner of Seven Locks Road and Muirfield Drive and catches northbound speeders. Beware!

I have been writing a blog at for a almost two years now. Its focus is primarily on real estate and local happenings in the areas I tend to work and travel most frequently. Throughout my time with the site I have asked colleagues to write blogs about their areas of expertise. The Guest Blogger posts have been fun and successful.

bethesda: Bright and Beautiful Bethesda - 03/05/14 01:19 AM
Bright and Beautiful Bethesda
I recently wrote a blog post about some new colors springing up on my drive to work each morning in Bethesda, Maryland. Unfortunately my post is not about the beautiful spring flowers that one might expect this time of year. You see, we are still getting snow so almost everything on my drive in is either black or white.
Fortunately, there are several splashes of color on my daily commute. I'm not sure if they were planned by a government entity or independently created by a mob of inspired vandals, but I enjoy seeing them each day along Bradley Boulevard. I … (3 comments)

bethesda: New Speed Cameras on Bradley BLVD in Bethesda, Maryland - 11/26/13 11:55 PM
Beware on Bradley Boulevard

If you live or drive anywhere between downtown Bethesda and Potomac Maryland, you might want to take a little extra time for your drive. Three new speed cameras have been installed along Bradley Boulevard and they are very hard to see among the piles of leaves that are placed near the roads edge.
I noticed these cameras and the new signs that were recently installed along Bradley Blvd. and thought I would give you a heads up so you can avoid getting that ticket in the mail later.
The three cameras are posted between Hungton Pkwy and … (0 comments)

bethesda: Labor Day - Last Day for the Whites - 09/02/13 01:32 AM
As children, we learn a lot of things from our parents. They pass down religious, family and holiday traditions. When we question our parents about WHY we do things a certain way they tell us because that's the way it's always been done. My family listens to the Johnnie Mathis and Andy Williams Christmas albums when making cut out Christmas cookies. Why? Because that's how my mother always did it.
When it comes to fashion, I know many people no longer follow the rules that our mothers taught us when we were little girls. Some of these rules tend to attract … (9 comments)

bethesda: Why Bethesda? Or rather, Why not Bethesda? - 11/29/12 10:53 PM
Considering a move to Bethesda? Bethesda is a great place to live and work. It offers a diverse and cosmopolitan downtown environment along with the safety, security and good schools of a small town. Full of green spaces, parks and trails, Bethesda is just a metro ride away from Downtown DC and all the restaurants, museums and history of the nation's capital.
I work at the Buyer's Edge Office in Bethesda, MD which has a walkscore of 97, which labels as Walker's Paradise. There are tons of neighborhoods in Bethesda. To read about Bethesda's four condo-rich neighborhoods check out the neighborhood pages … (0 comments)

bethesda: What are they thinking? - 11/06/12 09:36 PM
I write this on election night while I wonder what my clients and potential clients are thinking. Not what they are thinking about the election, but about real estate. So much time and media attention and social media attention has been about the election. There was a quick break while Superstorm Sandy took center stage, but then the spotlight tilted back to election coverage.

I must admit that my attention is not on real estate all of the time.
Halloween is a big holiday in my family and we had a huge party this year. But at most social events that … (5 comments)

bethesda: I was very jealous, but pruning shears solved that problem. - 04/25/12 03:18 AM
Yesterday I stopped by my neighbor's house to drop something off and I noticed the most beautiful lilac bush in their front yard. It was full of blooms and I could smell them as soon as I opened my car door. I was pretty jealous because my yard is very shady and my repeated attempts at growing lilacs in my yard have been unsuccessful.
My neighbor told me that the bush is an eyesore all year except for the few days it is in bloom. Their whole family is allergic to the flowers so they don't cut the blooms and take them inside. … (4 comments)
