So far this year aoccording to data from the Greater Fairfield County MLS, 15% of all single family homes and condominiums sold from January to May of this year in the Danbury 6 town area (Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, New Milford, New Fairfield & Newtown). I ran a few Greater Danbury real estate market stats yesterday. These aren't final quite yet since some December sales still haven't been reported closed on the system. The market was trending down at about 7% throughout most of 2008, but downturn accelerated in 4Q to about 12% year over year. It was a busy Christmas season, simply because we had a weak fall market as people were scared away by the financial crisis.
