Well the first week of June didn't break any records for numbers of transactions but it speaks clearly of the kind of activity we are seeing around the lake this Spring and Summer. There were (4) four transactions that closed that were properties that had owned shorefrontage on the lake and only (1) that was a shared access property.

The average interest rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage has fallen to a new low – a paltry 4.17% (w/ 0.8 points), according to Freddie Mac’s Primary Mortgage Market Survey. The 15-year fixed rate mortgage is now at 3.57% (w/ 0.8 points). Rates fell after the Federal Reserve recently announced it will buy up to $600 billion in government securities. For context, the monthly mortgage payment on a $250,000 loan at 4.17% (assuming $500 in annual homeowner’s insurance and $3500 in annual property taxes) is approximately $1,308.
