On July 5, 1977 construction began on a large lake front restaurant on the water of Lake Kincaid. The builder, E.A. "Tunk" Andries, Jr., was at first ridiculed for building there. To make a long story short, after many months of sweat, frustration, tears and a lot of hard work and sweat, Tunk's Cypress Inn opened on the spring night of March 21, 1978. Recently through conversations with seller's, FSBO's, expired listing owner's and even some real estate agents. I realized a common misconception occurring in our local market. The people interviewed all expressed a common belief of pricing the home higher for negotiation room. This is a fatal mistake when selling a home.
