fireworks: Fireworks are still Banned In Sugar Land and Fort Bend County for New Year’s - 12/26/11 03:21 AM
There has been some question about whether Fireworks are banned in Fort Bend County, specifically Sugar Land.  Here is the exact response from Fort Bend County:
Currently there is a ban on restricted fireworks in the unincorporated sections in Fort Bend County.  Pursuant to Section 352.051(a)(1) of the local government code, "Restricted fireworks" means those classified under 49C.F.R. sec. 173.100(r)(2) is described as "skyrockets with sticks" and "missiles with fins" are prohibited at this time.

fireworks: Fireworks are Banned in New Territory, Sugar Land Texas - 06/15/11 10:51 AM
Yesterday June 14th, 2011 the Fort Bend County Commissioners  banned the use of and sale of  Fireworks in Unincorporated areas of Fort Bend County.  This includes New Territory.  While this seems like a real "downer"  with 4th of July coming up, you need to know why.  It is because of the lack of rain.  We are in a semi major draught right now.  Here is the explanation from New Territory's email addressing the ban and the lack of rain:
