I recently had to replace my roof. I know many times that insurance companies will pay to replace your roof. But I had no idea how to go about it. As we all know dealing with Insurance companies is scary and when asked I cant tell if my roof was damaged by a storm. And for that matter, what date it was damaged. When doing a mortgage you need to pay for an appraisal. This is part of the mortgage process. But, there are times where you can choose to use different appraisal forms. These different forms offer different information that the lender requires and there are different costs for these different appraisals. Here is an explanation of the major appraisal forms and their benefits:

www.CnnMoney.com recently did an article on how Americans are wanting smaller homes. As they put it “After years of growth, the Census Bureau recently reported that median new home size fell to 2,135 square feet in 2009 after peaking at more than 2,300 earlier in the decade. The article also points out ”that consumers don't ask for as much for spaces devoted to single purposes, such as media rooms for watching videos and game rooms for shooting pool. Instead, the requests are for rooms with shared uses.”.
