What Is A Military Relocation Specialist?: By 1SG (Ret) David Kucic
To answer in very simple terms, this means assisting the moving of a military family from one military installation to another.  It is not nearly as easy as that simple explanation though.
For those of us that have served in the military know that there is A LOT more to moving from one place to another.  Tonya and I have moved well over 25 times during our military life that we have become accustomed to moving and look at it more like embarking on a new adventure rather than a stressful task.  … (7 comments)

Safeway Grocery Store in Ewa Beach
There will soon be a new shopping center in Ewa Beach that will be anchored by a Safeway Grocery Store.
At the intersection of Ft. Weaver Road and Keaunui Drive across Hawaii Prince Golf Course sits a large parcel of land that is being developed.  The property was purchased a while back by one company and the development was started.  Initial plans were to have an anchor store and numerous satellite shops.  There was even a plan for a movie theatre.
As the land continued to be prepped for the construction, Target Superstore came along and made … (7 comments)

Oahu, Hawaii is VERY crowded in certain places on the island.  The Ko'olau Mountain Range on the Windward side of the island and the Waianae Mountain Range on the Leeward side of the island account for a large part of the island.  There are homes scattered in various places around the base of the Ko'olau mountain range, partially on the slope and even some towards the top.  The Waianae Mountain Range have much less homes on any part of it.

Honolulu is the "hub" to a lot of what goes on here in … (8 comments)

Oahu, Hawaii Regions and Neighborhood Breakdown

Having grown up in Chicago, I was familiar with states, cities and counties.  It was very specific.  The city names and the neighborhood names were the same thing.  Names such as Calumet City, South Holland, Dolton, Lansing and Burnham were the names you used when you told your friends where you lived.  The way we described a specific part of a neighborhood was "Old Calumet City" versus "Calumet City".  The "old" meant that it was, well, in the older area.
After leaving home, I traveled extensively … (2 comments)
