certified mold inspection: The difference between a public adjuster and a an insurance company adjuster? - 04/15/11 09:52 AM
Do you know the difference between a public adjuster and an insurnace company adjuster?
The public adjustor works for the home owner or policy holder.
The insurance company has their own adjuster and they work for the insurance company to look out for their own needs and to save their insurance company money.
Do you need your own representation? You bet ya!  Would you represent yourself going to court?  Probably not.  The insurance company is going to do everything they can to keep the dollar figure down even if this means to even say no to paying a claim.

certified mold inspection: HUD Homes / Foreclosures / Vacant Property - All Breeding Grounds for Mold - 03/02/11 02:12 AM
HUD Homes / Foreclosures / Vacant Property - All Breeding Grounds for Mold Of course mold occurs in just about every home but with so many HUD homes and foreclosures on the market, I am seeing this more and more. These homes where the residence have simply given up can sometimes go un-kept and down right dirty. Without proper care this type of unsanitary environment can create problem upon problem. When a home is left vacant for too long even if it's clean, more than likely the previous owner has turned down the heat or off completely and this can create … (3 comments)

certified mold inspection: After the Mold Has Invaded! Questions to Ask Your Mold Specialist (Part 2 of 2) - 02/06/11 12:40 AM
Questions to Ask Your Mold Inspector
My last blog about what to look for if you suspect you have mold in your house gave the definitions of three types of mold - not the kind found in your refrigerator!
But now what do you do if you find mold bad enough that you have to call in the big guns to get it taken care of?
First of all, find a certified mold inspector to handle it. Most carpet, or cleaning services don't have the means or the resources to really clean up a toxic mold situation. They would … (7 comments)

What is Mold? - Do You or Your Client Really Know?
It came from the deep. That dark, growing, black ooze that won't seem to go away no matter how much you scrub it. Mold, that nasty little creature that grows with a vengeance! Left untreated, this monster can cause major damage in homes if you are not sure what you've got or how to deal with it properly. If you have never had your home inspected or it's been a while, mold can seep in where you really don't want it to. Mold damage can not only affect your home … (8 comments)

What to do when you have mold in the house
You go and open your kitchen cabinets or drawers and find a black fuzzy looking alien growing on the walls, And no, this isn't your kids science experiment. So what do you do now? It really depends on what you are dealing with as to how to tackle the problem.
If the mold is small enough, say just the inside walls of a cabinet you can probably have the problem fixed on your own in a short amount of time. If this is the case you will first need to … (6 comments)

certified mold inspection: Do you have to disclose if there has been a water damage or mold problems? - 12/13/10 12:34 AM
Do you have to disclose as a Realtor that there have been water damage issues or mold issues in the past with paper work?
If so, what if someone says that there has never been water damage issues or mold damage issue's in the past but the your client calls up a certified mold inspection company to dissect the home and finds out that the home has indeed water damage from the past as well as mold issue's?
We had a job this year where we went out to a home and the seller told us that the home had never … (9 comments)

certified mold inspection: "I Got Your Back" Says the Realtor - "Have you Really Got my Back?" Says the Client - 12/12/10 12:08 AM
I got your back said the Realtor! Have you really got my back? said the client
Is the Realtor really looking out for his or her client? I would like to think so.
Is the Realtor really spending time trying to find the right property for his or her client? I would like to think so.
Is the Realtor in it for the money or is the Realtor really passionate about finding someone the right house? I am sure that most Realtors really care but there are those that don't. Just like in any business, there are always a few bad … (105 comments)
