The State of Illinois for Broker License renewal this time, required brokers to take a Broker Management course as one of their continuing education requirements. This proved to be a sobering experience for many Brokers who for many years did not have to act like a broker, but could just pretend that they were. Up until 2006, licensed agents who received their license in 1977 or before did not have to take continuing education because they were "grandfathered". continuing education: Real Estate Pre-License Classes

I have scheduled pre-license classes in Illinois starting in the Fall of 2007 up to April 2008. Problem is, for some reason, there is minimal interest in getting a real estate license. Can't understand why. Perhaps its because: lack of interest, cost, less time to arrange their sock drawer or maybe they have heard something. I have been at this business of real estate since 1965 and have seen my share of ups and downs (20% interest rates, 1987 recession), but real estate has always delivered a paycheck (two kids grown, through college and gone).
